بحسب معادلاته نصف قطر الأرض بـ 6340 كيلومترًا. القيمة الحالية هي 6371 كيلومترًا ..

⚡🇴🇲 مشروع عملاق قد يغيّر مستقبل الطاقة في سلطنة عُمان.. محطة الجبل الأبيض لتخزين الطاقة الكهرومائية بالضخ (PHES) تتجه لتكون أكبر مشروع من نوعه في الشرق الأوسط.

المشروع يعتمد على ميزة طبيعية فريدة تتمثل في فرق الارتفاع الكبير بين خزان سد وادي ضيقة وهضبة الجبل الأبيض، حيث سيتم إنشاء خزان علوي على ارتفاع يقارب 1130 متراً فوق سطح البحر، بطاقة تخزين تصل إلى نحو 17.9 غيغاواط ساعة وقدرة إنتاجية تبلغ 2 غيغاواط.

ستعمل المحطة على تخزين فائض الطاقة الشمسية خلال النهار وضخ المياه إلى الخزان العلوي، ثم إعادة توليد الكهرباء عند ارتفاع الطلب مساءً، مما يعزز استقرار الشبكة ويدعم تحول عُمان نحو الطاقة المتجددة.

الأهم أن المشروع يُعد استثماراً طويل الأمد قد يمتد لأكثر من 100 عام، مع توقع بقاء نسبة كبيرة من الإنفاق داخل السلطنة عبر أعمال الإنشاء والأنفاق والبنية الأساسية. ⚙️🌱

𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲.

The “Oman fee” story did NOT come from Muscat. It came from Iranian state media describing a proposed arrangement, then got laundered through English-language outlets as if Oman had announced a “toll booth” Oman announced nothing. Yet yesterday President Trump said, on the record, “Oman will behave just like everybody else or we’ll have to blow ’em up.” The State Department confirmed he meant Oman, not Iran, by posting the transcript.

Sit with that. The United States just threatened to bomb the one country in the region that has spent FIFTY years being the adult in the room.

𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁

This is not flattery. It is the operational record. Oman hosted the secret US-Iran back channels that produced the original nuclear talks. Oman mediated between the Houthis and the Saudis. Oman kept its embassy open in Tehran AND its relationship warm with Washington for decades. Oman is the reason multiple regional crises did NOT spiral. In that part of the world, Oman is the quiet force for stability that everyone trusts precisely because it threatens no one.

Imagine London, Berlin, or Paris announcing that Geneva would be bombed if Switzerland kept talking to Russia. The European Union would turn upside down overnight. The entire architecture of neutral diplomacy would be treated as under attack, because it would be. That is exactly what just happened to Oman, and the silence is deafening and cannot be tolerated by the diplomatic community.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗖𝗖 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆

The Gulf Cooperation Council, collective of 6 Arab Gulf countries comprised similar to a small EU; has said NOTHING. No collective statement. No defence of a founding member. Nothing. And here is the hard truth for the GCC. The more you tolerate a partner threatening to bomb your own members from your own neighbourhood, the more you signal that you will accept being governed by others. Sovereignty that is not defended is sovereignty that is being surrendered in instalments.

You do NOT get to call yourself a bloc if a founding member can be publicly threatened with annihilation and the response from the rest is to look at the floor.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳

Threatening to “blow up” a sovereign mediator over a fee that mediator never announced is not strength. It is the opposite of statecraft. You do not bomb the Switzerland of your region and expect the region to keep trusting you. You do not threaten the one neutral broker everyone relies on and then wonder why the next crisis has no off-ramp. Oman is the off-ramp. Trump just threatened to bomb the off-ramp.

This is signal that Washington no longer understands the difference between an adversary and a peacemaker. Oman remains a beacon of hope in a region being pushed toward the edge. The least the rest of the Gulf can do is say so out loud.
