Julian Álvarez saw the fans turning on him and Atlético’s board treating him like dirt, so he took it personally and brought that frustration onto the pitch.

He came on and basically walked around like Atlético were playing with 9 men instead of 10. The same Álvarez who used to be the hardest-working player on the pitch — pressing, tracking back, making runs, attacking — barely touched the ball twice in 30 minutes.

It’s like: “You’re the ones forcing me to stay? Fine, then deal with the version of me you’ve created.”
