On This Day — June 5, 1948
In April 1948, 22-year-old Robert F. Kennedy traveled through British Mandate Palestine & saw: Jerusalem had a clear Jewish majority & Arab forces were openly preparing to annihilate every Jew the moment the British left.
This day, one of his dispatches from the Land of Israel was published in the Boston Post, capturing the grim reality:
“The City of Jerusalem has more Jews than Arabs but the immediate surrounding territory is predominately Arab … It is by this road [from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem] that the Jewish population within Jerusalem must be supplied, but it is fantastically easy for the Arabs to ambush a convoy …”
He added with chilling detail:
“The Arabs … would poison [the water]. The Jews … had a central water system installed … Unfortunately for them, the reservoir is situated in the mountains and it and the whole pipeline are controlled by the Arabs.”
RFK saw British troops disarming Jewish convoys while thousands of Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, and Transjordanian Arab soldiers poured in unmolested.
He watched the Haganah fighting desperately to keep the Tel Aviv–Jerusalem road open — calling it “our battle of the Atlantic” — because without it, Jerusalem’s Jews would have been starved or slaughtered.
With brutal clarity, the young Bobby Kennedy documented what so many still deny today: the Jews were not the aggressors. They were fighting for their ancient homeland “as of right and not on sufferance,” rebuilding a desolate land while Arab forces and British obstruction tried to crush them.
A 22-year-old future U.S. Attorney General and Senator saw the truth with his own eyes: the Jews were simply the ones refusing to die.

"It's not your country, it's our country."
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun tells CNN that he is sick of Hezbollah using his country and his people as a bargaining chip.
It amazes me how so many Westerners are surprised when people come forward to say they hate living next to terrorists who would happily let them die for a chance to see the Middle East free of Jews.
The time has come for a responsible Slovenian 🇸🇮foreign policy based on facts, Slovenian national interests and international law.
The politically and economically harmful period of government support for activist anti-Semitism, which was broadly encouraged by commissions from two billion US dollars of laundered Iranian money in the former state owned bank during the left-wing government, has ended.
@antonioguterres@UNIFIL_ You condemn the killing of peacemaker by whom? Say it - Hezbollah! Or maybe it is difficult for you to say it cause you actually condemn the peacemaker being on Hezbollah territory and disturb it ? Do you condemn Hezbollah @antonioguterres ??
@GeertJeelof They did same things to the Jews during pogroms in 1919-1922. But when I tell them Ukranians about it, they say "it never happened, this is Russian narrative". Sad...
On This Day — June 4, 1967
Israel stood completely alone — betrayed by its allies and facing annihilation.
France — Israel’s main arms supplier — imposed a total weapons embargo on Israel at the direct order of President Charles de Gaulle.
Already, every major Western power, including the United States, had Israel under a weapons embargo.
The Israeli Cabinet met in emergency session as massive Arab armies gathered on its borders. Egypt alone had nearly 100,000 troops and 1,000 tanks in Sinai, with Jordan, Syria, and Iraq adding more forces. Arab leaders were openly calling for Israel’s destruction.
A cable from U.S. President Lyndon Johnson made the situation brutally clear:
“Israel will not be alone unless it decides to go it alone.”
Israel got the message.
With no strategic depth, vastly outnumbered, and abandoned by its supposed friends, the Cabinet voted 12–2 to launch a preemptive strike on the largest Arab military, Egypt (which had already committed an act of war by closing the Straits of Tiran). The war would begin the next morning.
The mood across Israel was somber and resolute. Parks were dug up for mass graves. Schools became bomb shelters. Teenagers filled sandbags. The entire nation understood it faced an existential threat — a potential second Holocaust.
Yet on June 5, Israel acted.
This was the moment a small, isolated nation chose survival over waiting for the mercy of others.
Never forget how alone Israel truly was on the eve of the Six Day War.
“Jews are not allowed to stay with us”
Israelis who tried to book a room at a hotel in Bavaria through travel app Booking were shocked to receive a blatanly antisemitic message.
Following a complaint they filed, the hotel was removed from the platform.
German authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Banning Jews from your establishment isn’t about politics. It’s pure hate.
.@POTUS on his phone call with PM Netanyahu: "I wouldn't say angry. I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon. At some point, I said, 'Bibi, we gotta stop this' ... but we've worked very well together."
On This Day — June 3, 1948
Over half a million Arabs poured into Mandate Palestine in just 12 years to take advantage of the economic opportunities created by Jewish development — the only place in the entire Middle East with a growing Arab middle class.
Robert F. Kennedy, then only 22, made that striking observation in his reporting from British Mandate Palestine in April 1948 (just weeks before Israel’s independence). His dispatch was published this day in the Boston Post.
RFK wrote:
“The Jews point with pride to the fact that over 500,000 Arabs ... came into Palestine to take advantage of living conditions existing in no other Arab state. This is the only country in the Near and Middle East where an Arab middle class is in existence.”
He described how the Jews had transformed arid desert into flourishing orange groves through relentless labor and ingenuity. Tel Aviv had grown from a small village into a modern metropolis of over 200,000 in a single generation.
RFK noted that the Jews had already built a thriving community with its own institutions, language, and national characteristics — and were determined to reclaim their ancient homeland “as of right and not on sufferance.”
A young Bobby Kennedy saw the truth clearly: a people returning home, rebuilding their land with their own hands, and refusing to live as guests in their own country.
In Trump 1, it was a clearly stated policy that Iran should not be allowed to continue to support terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah without consequences.
I would urge Trump 2 to continue that policy. Any deal that does not punish Iran in the future for supporting groups like Hezbollah — whose stated goal is to destroy Israel and control Lebanon through force of arms — would be a tremendous missed opportunity. Iran is the weakest they’ve ever been since 1979, but they can still project power through Hezbollah and other proxies. Iran’s ability to generate future October 7-style attacks are not connected to their nuclear program, but rather their unending desire to disrupt the region and eventually destroy Israel through their proxies.
ANY DEAL WITH IRAN MUST CLEARLY STATE THAT IF IRAN PROVIDES FUTURE SUPPORT TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS LIKE HEZBOLLAH, IT WILL RESULT IN CRIPPLING SANCTIONS AND OTHER PUNITIVE MEASURES.
In 2005, Israel gave Palestinians exactly what the world demanded: “Land for Peace.”
They unilaterally withdrew from the entire Gaza Strip, but got no peace.
The IDF forcibly removed every last Jew — even digging up Jewish graves. Gaza was made completely Jew-free, exactly as Palestinians demanded.
Israel handed over thriving communities, farms, and hundreds of millions in infrastructure — including productive greenhouses that could have become an economic engine for a Palestinian state.
What did the Palestinians do with this gift?
They destroyed it.
Mobs looted and burned the greenhouses. They ransacked and demolished synagogues. They celebrated with Hamas flags and gunfire.
Then, in January 2006, they voted Hamas — a genocidal terrorist organization whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews — into power.
By 2007, Hamas completed a bloody coup, threw Fatah members off rooftops, and seized total control of Gaza.
The result?
- Tens of thousands of rockets fired at Israeli civilians
- More than 500 miles of underground terror tunnels
- Billions in international aid stolen for war, not welfare
- Gaza transformed into a fortified Islamic terror enclave
Land for peace was tried — and violently rejected.
Everything Israel gave away in 2005 became the launchpad for the October 7 Massacre.
This is the ultimate proof: the Palestinian movement has never wanted a state living next to Israel. Its goal has always been the destruction of the Jewish state — in any part of the Land.
Important note: The blockade only came after Hamas seized power in 2007 and turned Gaza into a launchpad for war. And when that happened, Egypt joined it too.
Disengagement didn’t bring peace.
It brought the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
