@mrcpangallo In our setting in Cape Town, this was not the case, which prompted the need for a lockdown. But, I suspect in many contexts like yours, the rate of learning could have been sufficient to mitigate the pandemic without the need for a lockdown.

@mrcpangallo The key factor in our model determining whether or not social learning (the mechanism driving behavioral change in our model) alone can mitigate the pandemic is whether or not the rate of learning exceeds the reproductive rate of the virus.
