“Make tomorrow better than today”
That’s the motto of Glenn Healy, Executive Director & President of the NHL Alumni
Today at their golf tournament, Healy discussed the recent NHL/NHLPA CBA, where the league and union agreed to contribute north of $4M combined towards a post-retirement wellness plan
alumni receive:
A Family doctor
A Mental wellness professional (their children are eligible too)
Those who played 400 games receive dental & prescription eyewear coverage too.
If you don’t meet that threshold, there is a “catastrophic and financial distress plan” to help
Glenn (and the staff at the NHL Alumni) have worked incredibly hard at this.
Proud jewish business leaders under attack and harassment. A microcosm for the horrifying rise in antisemitism. Bravo to everyone at @startupfest for standing up
Wade, thank you. Seeing this community rally restores my faith too.
What I'll say is this: I'm getting used to this type of thing, which is a sad sentence to write. Imagine the founders and builders who face this hate without the platform or resources I have to speak out against it. That's the part that keeps me up at night.
I'm grateful for everyone's support. And my response will always be the same: keep building, more ambitiously than ever. Period.
Proud Jew, always.
Every Friday I put a Shabbat Shalom message out into the world. Not just for Jews, for everyone. A small weekly dose of positivity, love and gratitude.
This week reminded me why it matters. When hate shows up, the answer isn't to go quiet. It's to show up with even more light.
So I'll keep posting this every Friday, prouder and louder than ever.
Shabbat Shalom, friends ❤️

So much for quiet opening to free agency for Canucks. When MPettersson trade materialized, Oleksiak was signed after Schenn and Cotter. Rebuilding the team will take years, but culture change has started.
