Middle schoolers in Adv STEM chose an @GlobalGoalsUN and designed a engineering solution. 3-D printed Prototypes, full size prototypes, trying, failing, learning, teamwork, growth mindset in action! Pictured is a team who learned the most by failing. Pretty cool, Mrs. Brantner!
I had a kid in my office after a blow out in class. I explained why I prefer restorative practices over exclusion from school. Kid: “You’re right! I’ve been suspended tons of times, and all it did was make me get further behind in school.” EXACTLY.
@fastcrayon Her poise and direct eye contact while talking about something that probably felt uncomfortable was inspiring to me. I need to do a better job with this myself!
@roverholser84 @MHSGrizzlies “S-Town” (lots of language) and “Serial” for multi-episode stories. I love “Kind World”, short (5-7 minute) stories that are only connected by theme. “Up and Vanished”...An amateur podcaster investigating a cold case. Gets a little commercial by the end, but interesting!
@mbrisbin11 This one was a freshman, but I can think of a couple too! Something like this could be a cool IP. I can think of a million directions it could go....
A kid told me he’s been working on something for hours. He asked 136 people for a song they want others to hear, made a YouTube playlist and passed out the QR code. It’s NSFW, but awesome. I asked if it was for a class. “No...but what if it was??” Good question. #macedinnovators
