Big crowd of Israeli families who chose to spend Rosh Hashana evening with the families of the hostages, protesting in front of Netanyahu's Jerusalem residence.

Proud of my parents who are there right now - it would have been nicer to do a normal holiday dinner like always, but the hostage families need the public to stand by their side, tonight more than ever.

Exactly six months ago, Netanyahu broke the January 2025 "Trump Ceasefire" and renewed the war in Gaza, instead of entering the deal's second phase which included the release of all remaining hostages in return for ending the war.

At the time, he and Ron Dermer told Trump it would only be "a few weeks" until Hamas is defeated and a better deal will emerge.

Those few weeks turned into half-a-year, 180 days of suffering and horror. During this period, more than 60 of our soldiers died in Gaza; Israel became an international pariah state; and only one living hostage returned - thanks to his American passport.

The vast majority of the hostages' families believe that Netanyahu lied to them and to the entire world. His plan to expand the war into Gaza City will turn those "few weeks" into many more months. Living hostages could die; dead hostages' bodies lost forever under the rubble; Israel will lose more soldiers, more support, and most important, its own identity/DNA as a nation that doesn't abandon our own people.

So on this eve of a new Jewish year, many Israelis have answered the question "what can I do to save the hostages?" by showing up to this protest. And every Jewish person in the world should ask the same question tonight, as we approach the indefensible two-year mark of their captivity, all while a deal remains on the table and can be signed tomorrow.
