@safe_hrm Serious question, if someone were to make the same argument and say that bike parking shouldn’t be free downtown for the same reason what would you say?
Genuinely curious of the mental gymnastics required to land in this position. To being anti-bike is necessarily to be anti-green space due to all the required car infrastructure.
And there is clearly enough space for a bike loan on this massive road.
Halifax has a fabulous urban tree canopy. Trees are beautiful. They mitigate urban heat. They provide habitat for wildlife.
But HRM's bike lobby wants to cut down 125 mature trees on the peninsula & replace them with yet more asphalt to accommodate their pastime. 1/3
@JustinTrudeau@NDP The reason rich people are OK with so much tax dollars going to universal healthcare is because they also have to use those services.
You can be sure that the rich will attack a means-tested system with all they've got in order to get tax cuts.

One year ago, a violent attack on our Capitol made it clear just how fragile the American experiment in democracy really is. Here’s my statement on what the anniversary means, and what we need to do today.
@TimHoustonNS arguments against rent control are embedded in false narrative that this reduces the incentive to build new units. This is an overly simplistic analysis of an economics-101 model of imposing a price ceiling on a perfectly competitive market #nspoli 1/4
Access to dental care should be a right in this country, not a privilege.
It’s time to roll up our sleeves and work together to make universal, public dental care a reality for all Canadians.
#M62 is an important first step.
Tell your MP to vote YES on M-62! #DentalCare4All
It’s funny how they phrased this question because there are probably few things Trudeau would like more to add to his political legacy than a “constitutional conversation.”
Interesting cross-section between #oralhealth & #masculinity today.
In two unrelated lectures, the work "father" was omitted when describing how pediatric oral health is affected by surrounding people.
I always had a feeling that @HFXMooseheads and @DrakkardeBaieCo seemed to hit their highs and lows at the same time. Turns out they've been almost perfectly in sync for over a decade:
I never understand what @TimHoustonNS means when he says "It's not politics, it's personal." Is affordable housing politics or personal? Is accessible education politics or personal? Is COVID19 management politics or personal? Is climate change politics or personal?
