Yesterday my partner moved away to prepare for starting residency in a new city. I’m so proud of him to start the next phase of his training, but also heartbroken that we will be apart for the next 4 years. It’s so sad that medicine can tear people apart like this… 1/2
HE’S. IGNORING. THE. SUPREME. COURT.
Many of you have walked this country straight into fascism and you’re still too stupid to realize it. My generation will never forgive you.
“No government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.” - President Alan Garber https://t.co/6cQQpcJVTd
Leading up to match, I couldn’t sleep because I was so anxious. Now that we’re post-match…I can’t sleep because I’m so excited about what’s to come 🤣 help
We’ve come a long way since my last major post. Elated to share that:
1. I matched into my dream specialty
AND
2. I will close the distance with my now fiancé this summer!!
Today has been a dream come true. So grateful for everyone who helped me reach my goals 🥹

Thankful for the incredible team of dermatologists who provided their expertise for this review paper, as well as the wonderful guidanceof one of my dermatology role models and mentors, Dr. Ben Kaffenberger. Excited to hear what others think about our work!

In this paper, we outline differences between high-risk versus low-risk morbilliform eruptions and highlight differentiating features between the high-risk morbilliform eruptions. We provide an algorithmic approach (below!) to morbilliform eruptions more generally.

I don’t believe the “40% of med students don’t plan to practice” stat…but even if I did, here’s some more relevant stats.
- the government has cut RVU reimbursement year over year, while inflation has only increased…in the past few years alone we took a double digit pay cut because of government @MedicareGov reimbursement when adjusted for inflation
- private equity has taken over healthcare, fairly unchecked. This results in bad patient care, unstable healthcare markets and poor working conditions for physicians…
-healthcare administrators have grown 3800% versus physician #s growing 200% since the 70s. This represents declining physician autonomy and an overwhelming administrative burden…much of which is created by government programs like CMS “Quality Measures” which are less about care quality and more about gamesmanship and documentation burden
- insurance companies have a chokehold on the finances of healthcare…and their lobby dollars fund the congressmen who help keep them in power and allow them to continue to squeeze physicians and patients both
How ‘bout you work on some of those issues, Congressman…and get back to the med students after you do?
Heartbroken for my fellow Ohioans.
Sherrod Brown was a tireless advocate for workers, and Bernie Moreno is a literal used car salesman $100+ millionaire who stole money from his employees and shredded the paperwork so he wouldn’t go to jail.
They’re winning the class war.
I can’t think of a public servant in recent years who has done more for the people of Ohio. Sherrod Brown is an immeasurable loss for the state and for the country. I don’t have words.
Every national security advisor and economist said don’t vote for him. His former cabinet said don’t vote for him. He tried to overthrow the last election. He overturned women’s rights. He’s openly racist. He’s a rapist. He’s a felon. And he’s winning another term. I don’t get it
