It's been a while since I was last on here. Partly due to being so busy but also because of what this platform has become.
Since Musk took over it has become full of fake accounts, ragebait, clickbait, racism and people simply chatting rubbish just to generate income.

@LibraryPlayer Not closing it... Let's call it furloughed!
Its not something I want to give up (especially with all the misinformation since the budget) but this just isn't the right platform to do it.
And it's no better on Facebook or other social media platforms.
It seems like social media is going down a deep dark hole
And as for what AI is going to do.... I can only see it getting far worse.

And finally...
Thank you to all those that have followed me or just joined in the sensible discussions. It's proved to me there are far more sensible people out there than the Internet would have you believe!

So for now (at least) it's time to say goodbye.
For those that remain just remember the Anti-Benefit Brigade are the Flat-Earthers of the benefit discussion. They are the 1% who shout the loudest but have zero evidence or facts to back up their views.

@juliesharp86 @adamfare1996 They do know but they also know the anti-benefit brigade will lap up any figures that make it seem like there is a huge rise in benefit claims.
A) If out of work for a prolonged period they'd be benefit capped and receive much less.
B) it's only 0.3% of households on UC. The fixation with the fringe cases and extreme minority is unhealthy.
While you're slogging through your working week, remember why you're doingit: there are 26,000 households with no disabled child, no carer entitlement, fully capable of working, who claim an average of £3,050 in Universal Credit per month.
They cost you £1 billion a year.
The net gain for claimants will obviously depend on what happens with inflation over the coming years but any above inflation rise to the standard allowance of Universal Credit is welcome... and overdue!
2% CPI is the prediction for 2026 so is open to change, the only thing baked in for a change to the Standard rate of Universal Credit is the UC Act uplift of 2.3% which by itself would mean the rate is guaranteed to become at least 409.34pcm in 2026 👇
@Nerdsauce1@adamfare1996 That's not how Universal Credit works.
I don't understand why your Uncle's income would affect your own Universal Credit claim.
Can you go into any more detail?
I'm sure we're all sick and tired of so-called 'helplines' being farmed out to the lowest bidder.
Universal Credit claimants often need the most help so they deserve better.
@DWPgovuk i have to say, your service sucks, as someone who is disabled i have had the misfortune of dealing with universal credit, today i get told i have cancer, so as you can imagine im a tad distressed, but in an effort to keep focused i called to report this change, now when
@GavinFreedomLo1 @ReformerDog2 The amount of housing support depends on your circumstances and where you live.
And no, they don't pay towards your mortgage.
@blue_moonctid@itsfar2bright@BigDunk71 The whole thread is full of mistakes, assumptions and random meaningless comparisons.
They also imply that it's a simple choice whether to claim PIP or not.
Goes completely wrong in the 2nd post of the thread and then continues to make assumptions and meaningless comparisons.
As usual the Anti-Benefit Brigade don't even know what they're talking about.
I am going to put together a thread on the completely insane costs of PIP. I was going to delve into motability as well but this thread has become long enough as it is.
The numbers involved are staggering to a point that I just don't think people realise🧵 1/n
Have you any experience of claiming PIP?
Do you know the full process and what's involved with claiming PIP?
Do you know any facts or figures to do with PIP?
No?
Then shut up!
This has taken ages…and it’s a long read, and you may need to register with Medium to read it. (It’s free though, I make no money from it!)
