My friend is 25. He takes home £2,250 a month and wants to move out. He needs 2 bedrooms so his child can stay.
This is the cheapest I can find in the area he needs. £995 a month.
Then bills, food, car…
How are younger people supposed to live?
The older I get, the more I realise being “good with money” is mostly just keeping things longer.
The car that still works.
The phone that’s still fine.
The TV nobody needs to upgrade.
The cheapest upgrade is usually the one you don’t make.
Just found £10 in some jeans I was about to throw in the wash.
I’ve spent £10 without thinking about it hundreds of times.
But finding £10 I already owned?
Absolutely made my evening.
There’s no logic to money.
£4,000–£6,000 to become a plumber.
He’s 27, already working and already has Level 1.
He wants Levels 2 & 3 so he can leave his current job and enter a trade we’re constantly told Britain desperately needs.
Surely we should be making that easier, not harder.
Why is a Level 2 and 3 plumbing course free in the UK for an asylum seeker and some migrants, but not for me, who is English 🏴 and born here?
I am a 27-year-old British bloke who already has Level 1 plumbing and just wants to finish Levels 2 and 3 so I can work the trade and leave my Production Operative role for a real career.
Cost to me: £4,000–£6,000.
The same courses are free if you have refugee status here, free for an asylum seeker who has been here 6 months waiting on a decision, or refused and appealing for 6 months.
Also free immediately for several other statuses and if you are on a low income it seems.
Why is this country backwards? 🇬🇧
I went into the supermarket for milk.
£27 later I had milk.
And bread.
And crisps.
And something that was on offer.
And three things I definitely didn’t go in for.
The most expensive shopping list in Britain is the one with one item on it.
Here we go again.
This landed in my inbox back in 2024 for the original Oasis reunion sale.
A pre-sale code genuinely felt like a golden ticket.
Now Oasis tickets are going on sale again next week.
Time to find out who gets the magic email this time. 😂
@JGWorldThoughts I feed my dog top notch premium chicken and kibble.
Why? Because I want her to have nicer food than this processed rubbish and the absolute crap that made her ill that they put into ‘dog meat’
I checked my bank account and realised how much of my salary is already spoken for before I even wake up on payday.
Mortgage. Council tax. Energy. Insurance. Internet.
Payday used to feel like getting paid.
Now it feels like being the middleman.

@JohnCla69414577 Yes completely agree. £80 a month is a chunk to be parting with for a device that’ll be out of date in less than 12 months time, that’s for sure!
£78.62 a month doesn’t sound that bad for a new iPhone.
£1,886.88 over two years suddenly does.
Buy the same phone for £999 + a £10/month SIM and the equivalent is £1,239.
£648 difference.
I’ve noticed we’ve stopped asking what things cost. We ask what they cost a month.
