Sits down with the FP&A leader. Spends time knowing revenue, margins, sales and marketing spend, cash flow, balance sheet dynamics.

2. Someone who makes decisions on these 3 dimensions.

- Maximize Value. Do investment benefit analysis.
- Minimizing Risk. Identity and mitigate risks.
- Managing costs. Always think twice before adding recurring costs. They can add up to $Ms over time.

3. Someone who aligns IT priorities with the business goals.

- Scale IT resources/stack to 3-4 year business plan.
- Maintain Speed of Decision fast even if execution may be slow.
- Embrace complexity where it's advantageous and cut it ruthlessly where it adds friction.

Write these frameworks. Post it. See it. Every day. Make a habit. On your way to CIO.
