Lt Colonel Muhammad Hassan Haider

Those who say that a Brigadier’s son or General’s son enjoy lavish lifestyles, for your information Lt Col Hassan Haider who embraced martyrdom at Tirah valley while leading from the front is a son of Brig Ghulam Haider (Late), nephew of serving Major General Irfan Malik and Air Commodore Aziz, he was martyred in Tirah operations. He was born a soldier and died a soldier. For those in doubt about military families not carrying traditions, here is Lt Col Hassan Haider a father to a Son and a daughter. It has remained the hallmark of Pakistan Army where Officers lead from the front and has the highest Officer to men ratio in the recorded history of Mankind.

Passing out parade of cadets of 148th PMA Long Course, 67th Integrated Course, 35th Technical Graduate Course and 22nd Lady Cadet Course was held at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul today.

Cadets from #Iraq, #Maldives, #Nepal, #Palestine, #Qatar, Sri Lanka and #Yemen were also amongst the graduates.

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI(M), TBt was the chief guest on the occasion.

The chief guest reviewed the parade and gave awards to distinguished cadets. The coveted Sword of Honour was awarded to Academy Senior Under Officer Muhammad Abdur Rehman Awan of 148th PMA Long Course.

The President’s Gold Medal to Battalion Senior Under Officer Muhammad Hamza Khalid of 148th PMA Long Course.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal to Battalion Senior Under Officer Shreejan Baniya of 148th PMA Long Course from Nepal.

Commandant’s Canes were awarded to Course Under Officer Muhammad Najam Azam of 67th Integrated Course and Course Under Officer Fareeha Kainaat Arif of 22nd Lady Cadet Course. Chief of Army Staff Cane to Company Quarter Master Sergeant Frasat Toufique of 35th Technical Graduate Course.

Commander of the Sri Lankan Army, Lieutenant General HLVM Liyanage, RWP, RSP, ndu also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

ALLHUMDULILLAH. Operation ends successfully. In an army led operation, all the children trapped in chair lifit rescued. Credit to army's leadership, SSG commandos, PAF, army aviation , civil administration, and people of Battagram . Although the rescue operation was extremely dangerous and risky yet the determined Pakistan Army succeeded in rescuing all those trapped . Unfortunately, there are still anti army social media brigades who are spewing venom against the institution out of sheer hatred and BUGUZ . Let us understand that the Pakistan Army is the centre of gravity of this country, which has kept the national fabric from being torn apart. It is the only institution towards which the nation looks during natural calamities and challenges. Stand with your armed forces . Long live Pakistan Army. Pakistan Paindabaad.

I wish to congratulate you all on completion of 76 years of Independence, and for celebrating 14th August with the glorious tradition of an immaculate and inspiring Parade at Pakistan Military Academy. Alongside the national fervor of rejoicing this day, every year, 14th August brings back to us an opportunity for revival of pledge, for total commitment and unflinching resolve, for a bright future of our motherland. You all stand tonight to honour ‘Independence’, which came as a result of the vision of our great leaders, and the relentless efforts and sacrifices of our forefathers. This day reminds us of the spirit behind the creation of this country, “Pakistan ka matlab kia - La illaha Illalah” which was rooted in the ideology of the Two Nation Theory, and the manifest destiny of the Muslims of Sub Continent
➢ For 76 years, we have maintained this tradition of celebrating freedom, equality and quest for happiness, which we must continue to cherish, every day of our lives. We are here to reinforce the patriotic spirit of serving our homeland, a land of countless opportunities and immeasurable bounties. We have a vibrant nation of over 240 million, with bulk comprising of aspiring and hardworking youth. All we need is to follow the principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline. Faith in Allah and our abilities to rise against all odds, while never giving into distractions; Unity in our efforts; and the desired Discipline of channelizing our energies towards the right direction of peace, prosperity and development
➢ I urge you to reject despondency, propaganda of naysayers and fear mongers, who are wagging a failed attempt to foment despair and hopelessness. This great country and the nation has withstood many such challenges during its creation and thereafter.
