Guys, very careful with illiquid stocks, they are very easy to manipulate without any volumes. Don’t rush to by just because there are board clearance. Don’t fall in to this trap. Safe guard your money with illiquid stocks. #stocks#StocksMarket#StockToWatch#SriLanka#CSE
Warren Buffett used this image to discuss how he once viewed investing through technical analysis (seeing the rabbit). And then he read Benjamin Graham’s book and it completely changed how he saw the world of investing into a more fundamental approach (seeing the duck). #BRK2022
There's an absolutely critical piece of economic information that I feel too many people are missing.
Our reserves cover is likely less than 3 days of imports.
That is so RIDICULOUSLY LOW!

@BuhardeenImtiaz Fundementaly makes sense. Higher the uncertainty of future cash flows, larger the discount rate you will have to use to discount to present values. Market is behaving as per fundementals.
@BuhardeenImtiaz Agree. Let's wait to see higher highs and higher lows in order to enter. Believe it's good time for institutions to stack up more equity in their portfolios with some fundementaly sound stocks.
@NewsWireLK Benchmarking against a poor nation is a quick way to becoming more poor. Why don't you think of how we can eliminate inefficiencies in SOEs and increase production of Gas instead.
With SL going into a pre-emptive negotiated default, despite expected credit downgrades, it should be a boost for the economy within. Much essential items can be bought with the $ that remains. Market sentiments should improve. @BuhardeenImtiaz@nimalhperera@CSE_Media
We have heard enough of rupee depreciation and it may continue to do so. Now it's wise to have your excess cash invested in companies that are likely to record super profits and that will benefit out of the situation. Local monopolies and net $ earnings counters. @CSE_Media
Let’s look at CSE from Monday. With inflation skyrocketing the best hedge would be stocks. Many examples are available from countries that has high inflation and in similar situation like SL. Always buy low and sell high 🙏 let’s survive this storm somehow, together !

The impact of rupee depreciation on the balancesheet of Manufacturing Cos are two fold.1.Their assets should go up in nominal value.2.Liabilities should have lost some value (if rupees denominated). This should drive up Book Values.Prices should adjust to reflect this in future.
While the volumes in CSE are drying up, we can expect some consolidation very soon. Let's add some positive vibes and smart moves. https://t.co/Nw3AKWkGWq
Whilst you are engrossed in the technical charts, don't forget to look at the EPS, Revenue and Profit margin growth/acceleration of local monoploies and their potential to surprise you with earnings growth, which is part of @markminervini's SEPA strategy.
From now onward when you want to sell your shares in the CSE, think of the two types of return you need to achieve. Firstly, to compensate you for inflation and secondly to provide you the real return excluding the inflation component.
