When people are promoted beyond their competence you will find that those is high positions are disproportionately incompetent. Working class people to not encounter this effect.

Following from another comment I made, forgiveness can move one from a hot response to a cold one, from the emotional pursuit of revenge to the disciplined pursuit of victory. Metaphorically, from peace to war. War is not just.

@DisaffectedPod Tangential: When Erika forgave I saw her giving up on something. The hope for vengeance is desire to hold on to what was lost. To give that up is to move on to what must be done, Leaving the past in peace and becoming something new. That strikes me as hardening, not surrender.

@stuartlosaltos I like the Tielman story. The big problem with the wokes is not their beliefs, it's how they do politics. They see people as avatars of something first, human beings second - if at all. So long as we treat one another as people first we can muddle through.

@stuartlosaltos This is a fantastic list. It is amazing how things we believed would be for the best (harm reduction, relaxed gender norms) have turned out otherwise.

I find I believe in balance and lean against the consensus whatever it is. While truth is elusive, sincerity can be counted on.

@GaltMD @danwilliamsphil I refuse labels, but as someone who for a long time was nearly one of them, I felt the same as you. Maybe it's partly generational, growing up in a culture held by someone else in a death grip. Finally they pushed me away.

Bigotry. That's the word. It is so alienating.
