@fleshsimulator You can literally just do what Japan does - roll them up in carpets like something out of a fucking cartoon and just take them away from polite society.
@x91742@chiptomunk@Dexerto Out of interest I checked the salary range in some of their advertised positions a while ago, and they were very poor offerings for the level of skill and exposure required. They were also significantly stricter about employees from earning outside revenue from streaming/etc.
@Asuppa180@Idle__Club@chiptomunk@Dexerto Since the start of industrialised society people were able to build homes and families on a single income, regardless of the type of work. It's only in the last three decades that this has changed.
@chiptomunk@Dexerto If work is worthwhile enough to occupy a person full time, then they should be paid enough to live a normal life. If you can't pay enough for someone to afford housing, then you should probably do the job yourself.
@Loyt_t@Dexerto If player count was all that matters, then Candy Crush would always be GOTY. Arc is a great multiplayer game, but Expedition 33 excels in every aspect and actively advances the medium as an art form. It's a high water mark for the industry, as was Witcher 3 and Elden Ring.
@patrician_tv Personally I blame Facebook - their hyper aggressive intrusion into the user space, trying to make VR into an "everything" experience, where you had to dig and fight the device in order to use it. The Quest is the default device, and thus it's the default experience.
@LancesEmporium Constant new content puts me off of a lot of games - I know I'll never keep up, so I will miss out, so why buy in the first place?
Plus with live games like this, there's always a peak time that you won't get to enjoy for long, before it gets worse (eg HD2)
@DTreaction It is a bottleneck, however the inefficiency of Windows is a much greater detractor from performance. In many cases, SteamOS is significantly more performant than Windows on the same hardware.
@linusgsebastian@Gamer__Man_ There's a lot of movement left to go - Intel is still in decline and destabilization - but their products are still the default CPU option in most workplace hardware. When you see SI like Lenovo, Dell, Etc change their default office machines to AMD, there will be a huge rush.
