Congratulations to @UAlberta’s Dr. Houghton, who has officially been awarded the #NobelPrize for Medicine! His discovery of the hepatitis C virus has made possible other medical breakthroughs, prevented millions of infections, and saved countless lives. What an accomplishment.

@CatBeck We are asking self-reflection questions such as "Has the simulation session improved your confidence for your
future fieldwork placements?" and "In your opinion, what were the disadvantages of your simucase experience"
@alsouqi8 Hi Sara! Great presentation :) What kinds of questions are you asking, and are they comparable to similar studies? What results are you anticipating?

6/7 Data will be collected through a self-reported survey administered pre and post lab activities on Nov 25th-Nov 27th. Students will be asked to share their impressions of clinical learning through simulated learning.
@CatBeck Hi Cathryn, yes! the questions we are asking are based off a study completed with OT students at Deakin University in Australia. Where they looked at the impact of simulated learning on student preparedness for clinical activities
@60sToVocab Hi! My friends Alicia and Tammie conducted a survey with 2nd year SLP students who have used Simucase. 71.8% of participants felt Simucase would be helpful for 1st years in Fall Semester. Based on this, we predict that it will be a beneficial introductory clinical experience!
@CSDResearchDay 7/7 Studies examining clinical learning efficacy in times of a pandemic are just emerging. The results of such studies are crucial in guiding the decision-making process for clinical educators while providing a safe and sustainable environment for clinical education. #UAlberta
