The development is situated right next to the DHL Stadium in Green Point and is known as The Granger.

It will also include 150 aparthotel units to be managed by Totalstay, 14,000 of premium-grade office space and 3,000m2 of retail space.

I caught up with Hannes Wagner, civil engineer at STRUXIT, for a construction update. He told me the hotel's foundations are in and the first lift columns have been cast.

"We're making solid progress - the groundwork is done, and we're now moving upward. This week we'll be casting the first elevated floor slab, which is a significant milestone for the structure." The photo shows the shuttering and decking being prepared for that pour.

For a city that continues to attract world-class hospitality investment, The Granger is shaping up to be one of Cape Town's most exciting urban developments to watch.
