— In her eyes Ben was her hero, who knows what could have happened if he hadn’t shown up.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

“Cardio?”

Spitting out a small fit of laughter, tapping his chest lightly getting a little flustered.

“I like the sound of that, very much.”

Sophie had seen a lot of wickedness through her childhood, it would take more than a guy rescuing her from a pervert to scare her. —

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

"In all fairness, some of them were well deserved."

But Ben didn't mind at all. She had seen him in all his glory, slight tipsy, laughing as he punched the hell out of the pig trying to follow her home. And she was still there. She never thought Ben was scary or insane.

"I +

— typically always treated this day as any other. She and her father wasn’t particularly close before he passed.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

“Undeserved, I assume.”

No matter Benedict’s actions Sophie always saw the good in him, she was a firm believer that not everyone was bad they’ve just had bad experiences within life (except her step mother, she herself was the devil incarnate.)

“None whatsoever.”

Sophie —

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

"I've been called other things…"

The smirk on his face made clear most of those things weren't nice names, but he wore that with pride. Benedict never picked fights nonsensically.

Slowly, he lowered his chin, searching for her lips once more. Her lips felt better than +

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

— along the surface of his chest.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

Their limbs tangled together, her body perfectly fitting around his. A content sigh released from her parted lips, she hadn’t felt this relaxed in years.

“Has anybody ever told you how charming you are?”

Her chin propped on his shoulder letting her dainty fingers dance —

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

He was still in bed. Calloused knuckles fondled @altruisticbelle's back, under her shirt (his shirt). They had been there a while now after waking up, but Benedict couldn't imagine moving an inch away from her right now.

"It's insane how beautiful you are…" He whispered.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

(Her chest rapidly rising and sinking, you could see in her features her head filled with thoughts unable to comprehend what just happened.)

I … I —

(She was hyperventilating? She needed to just spit it out.)

I’m in love with you too.

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

(His heart was racing and for once, it wasn't a fight. For a second he felt like she'd be able to hear it too. When Ben pulled back, stared at her with adoration in his eyes.)

I lied. I don't like you. I'm in love with you...

(Why did that sound like an apology?)

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

(It all came as a shock to Sophie, a rush of adrenaline coursing through her body as her breath hitched. Raising onto her tiptoes with just as much force returning the kiss.)

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

(Ben gripped her wrist and he pulled her into a kiss. Maybe he was rough for a moment, but his touch was ever so gentle.)

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

I’m tougher than I look, no matter what you say to me I am not going anywhere.

(His touch brought a warmth to her, she was seeing a more vulnerable side to him.)

And that’s a promise you can hold me to.

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

(Ben leans into her touch)

What if I told you? What if it's so terrible that you'll be too scared?

(His hand rests on hers.)

It's something that still gives me nightmares… I don't want to change this. I don't want you to look at me differently...

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

That could never happen.

(A palm coming up to caress his cheek.)

I won’t force you into telling me anything that makes you uncomfortable, it’s just that sadness is all too familiar.

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

I just...

(Fuck.)

Sophie I-... I really like you. But you won't like me if you try to know more.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

Shut me out, I deeply care for you, I won’t pry if you don’t want me to . . .

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

Do what?

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

Ben, please. Don’t do this.

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

Yeah, well, fuck this conversation, honestly.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

Ben . . . I can see how hurt you are, your eyes — they tell me everything.

[𝐁𝐄𝐍 @THEARTISTBL00D]

We both know that's not how it works.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

You have built this hard exterior up to help guard you but deep down I know it isn’t the drugs or the alcohol talking, you truly do have a sweet side.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

@THEARTISTBL00D A warm humbling smile lightened her features, tangle her dainty hand in his own.

“We can trauma bond together.”

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

I think if you had the chance you’d be a good dad, I’ve seen how soft you can be Bridgerton.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

Like what?!

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

@THEARTISTBL00D “Childhood trauma, what can I say. Made me the woman I am today.”

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

(Head tilt) I think you could be, anything is possible.

[𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐞𝐤 @altruisticbelle]

@THEARTISTBL00D “You’ve chosen the wrong person, I’m too much of a rule follower. Now what does your brother like?”
