One of the frustrating things about being an ex-athlete turned PE teacher is my inability to understand how non-sports people don’t get the basic principles of sports. Teammate not open? Don’t pass them the ball! Ball is played to you is a little high? Jump! 😵‍💫 The list goes on.

@SethIRich @RelevantLilly @theDRAMAgoat1 Yeah, it’s great. The messages show up on the parent’s phones like a text, but their responses come back to your app rather than a phone number.

@RelevantLilly @theDRAMAgoat1 My district uses TalkingPoints which has helped w/ this sort of thing. Its a text app that is used from a teacher’s school portal (where things like Canvas & PowerSchool are). I just open the program on my laptop, type the message, & it gets sent directly to their phone as a text

@Don_K_Williams Players would finally be “allowed” to play for their high schools. @MLSNEXT and @GAcademyLeague would have no reason to bar players from participating in club AND HS ⚽️ b/c the tactic of telling families that club ⚽️ is the only way to get recruited would be moot.

What is wrong with students today? When I was in school and the teacher pulled out the TV and put on a video, you best believe that was exciting. Now I’ve got kids sleeping or working on other assignments or talking instead of doing the simple task of watching. 😑

Any other coaches have a hard time watching their kids play the sport they’re involved in? This is the first season my son is playing ⚽️ and it’s taking a LOT of energy every week to enjoy watching him play and not make mental notes 😅 never had issues like this with other sports
