Yesterday, a guy told me that he is an evangelical, and in evangelical churches, they are guided by the Holy Spirit so they do not need to study theology like the Catholics or the Protestants (mainstream churches).

I had three questions for him. If they are guided by the Holy Spirit unlike the Catholics and the Protestants…

✅ Why do they observe a Christmas date established in Rome by the Catholic Church?

✅ Why do they observe an Easter timeline that was set by the Catholic Church?

✅ Why do they use a Bible that was canonized by the Catholic Church (originally 73 books), later adjusted to 66 by the Protestant Church theologians? They will say all scriptures are inspired. True. But there were over 300 books which were considered scripture, only that the Catholic Bishops sat and decided which ones were inspired. Now that the Catholic Church is not guided by the Holy Spirit according to this guy’s argument, have the evangelicals considered disregarding the books it established as inspired and relook into the 300 books to see what was left out or what should not have included?
