Last week at @EkStep_Org, leaders from across ‘Samaaj, Sarkaar, and Bazaar’ came together to deliberate on how data could be used as a DPI to unlock inclusion and innovation - across sectors like agriculture, finance, healthcare and amongst MSMEs to solve for real, on- ground challenges.

The areas of discussion included: - The potential of leveraging data to drive grassroot prosperity which could benefit entrepreneurs, farmers, students and citizens alike. The necessary guardrails which had to be put in place to safeguard the value of the data, so that it was always trustable, shareable and leveraged responsibly. The frameworks that could be designed to ensure that data and data-driven insights could be unlocked in a trustable manner and the possibility of joint pilots which could demonstrate the capabilities of ‘Data as a DPI.’ “Data As A Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI),” has the potential to contribute to the journey of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” Exciting times ahead!

Condemn the act, don’t get blinded by the narrative.

Don’t let Studio Ghibli aesthetics, gimmicky art, or edits distract you from the reality of what happened.

Don’t let right wing hatemongers manipulate the language again turning “dharma, not jaathi” into a weaponized slogan. Don’t fall for the spin. A Muslim man was also shot. Local Muslim residents rushed the injured to the hospital. Eyewitnesses say police and army were not present when they were needed. Vilifying Indian Muslims while completely ignoring those in power isn’t just irresponsible is plain stupid.

This isn’t about one off violence. It’s about repeated security lapses, state negligence, and deliberate silence. It’s a cycle. rage erupts, a community is vilified, and then the narrative shifts, as if nothing ever happened.

Stop accepting this pattern. Stop moving on.
Ask for accountability.
Ask what the Home Minister was doing. Ask what the Prime Minister was doing. Ask where the NSA was when it mattered.
Ask why the security budget was cut down.
Ask why recruitment hasn’t happened, even as retired army personnel themselves are calling it out.
Ask why the manpower in that area was reduced.
Ask why in a known tourist hotspot, there was no adequate police presence.

We’re back to asking celebrities to speak up, cricketers to post, and drowning in whataboutery, while no one in the government has taken a shred of actionable accountability.

Demand answers. Demand accountability.
