The difference between “working out” & training for sport (ex hockey) is the intention behind the efforts.
Working out is typically driven aesthetically to improve your body; whereas training for sport is to improve your body for action.
Looking good is just a nice by-product.

How do you know it does/doesn’t work if you’re not tracking progress?!?
The biggest mistake I made as a hockey player was thinking long, steady cardio sessions supported my stamina for short, hard shifts.
Though improved recovery, I still gassed out too quick.
It taught me that repeated sprints, even 1x/week, can unlock a new level of performance!
I used to think just getting stronger would make me better on the ice. 💪
When I began to understand that it’s transfer of that strength into explosive power that matters, that’s when everything improved! 💪💥
