S Janaki Gaaru passed away last week after a long and memorable career. She sang many memorable songs in Telugu, was the voice of many a heroine for close to 5 decades.

But when she passed away barring a few tributes from Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh, none of the stars bothered to even put a tweet. I am referring to the older generation of stars like Nag, Balayya, Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Rajshekhar, Naresh for whose movies she had sung many songs, or heroines of that time Bhanupriya, Vijayashanti.

And there was hardly any representation from TFI at her funeral, except for some singers like Sunita.

This had happened earlier with SPB, when there were no stars from TFI at his funeral, but then there was the excuse of COVID, not able to travel.

But even otherwise, both these singers who sang some of the most memorable songs in Telugu cinema for decades, have not got proper recognition. Chennai and Bengaluru have named a street after SPB, here some people had an issue with his statue being unveiled in Rabindra Bharathi, because apparently he was an "outsider".

Not just them, recently Sarada gaaru another veteran actress, was felicitated by the Malayalam film industry with big stars like Mammotty, Mohanlal gracing the occasion. But nothing from TFI even though she gave equally memorable performances in Telugu cinema.

Telugu cinema did not emerge overnight, it was the result of many veterans putting in their efforts over the decades, who laid the foundation. Directors, actors, music directors, writers, singers each of them putting in their own effort. The least we can do is acknowledge their efforts.

But even that is missing, we sure do have a very poor sense of history. Whole lot of Telugu cinema fans, have scarcely any idea of TFI's history and don't even want to know. They are rather more interested in gossip or fighting over movie collections.

బొబ్బిలి వీణ, బుడితి కంచు ఇత్తడి చేతిపనులు, ఏటికొప్పాక బొమ్మలు లాంటి ఉత్తరాంధ్ర శోభతో పాటు... బనగానపల్లె మామిడి, సంక్రాంతి హరిదాసులు, తప్పెటగుళ్ళు, తోలుబొమ్మలాట, మరియు మన సాంప్రదాయ నృత్య రీతులను పోస్టర్లు & కళారూపాలలో చూపించడం చాలా గర్వంగా అనిపిస్తుంది !!

ఆంధ్రలో అరెస్ట్ చేసిన తెలంగాణ పోలీసులు!

రేవంత్ రెడ్డిపై అనుచిత వ్యాఖ్యలు చేసిన కేసులో వైసీపీ నాయకుడు నాగార్జున యాదవ్‌ను తెలంగాణ పోలీసులు గుంటూరులో అరెస్ట్ చేసి తెలంగాణ కస్టడీకి తీసుకెళ్లారు.

ఈ సంఘటనలో ఎవరూ “ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ వ్యక్తిని తెలంగాణ పోలీసులు ఎలా అరెస్ట్ చేస్తారు?” అని అడగడం లేదు. ఎందుకంటే అది చట్టంపై కనీస అవగాహన ఉన్నవారు అడిగే ప్రశ్న కాదు.

కానీ.. ఇదే పరిస్థితి మరో రాష్ట్రానికి సంబంధించినప్పుడు మాత్రం చాలా కొద్ది మంది కూలీ జర్నలిస్టులు, పొట్ట కూటి కోసం నిత్యం ప్రజల మనసులో విద్వేషం , విషం చిమ్మే బ్యాచ్ .. ఇదే ప్రశ్నను పదే పదే లేవనెత్తుతూ ప్రజలను తప్పుదోవ పట్టించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తారు.

భారత చట్టాలు ఎప్పటి నుంచో న్యాయ ప్రక్రియను అనుసరించి రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య అరెస్టులను అనుమతిస్తున్నాయి. రాజకీయ కూలీల ఏడుపు కథనాల ప్రకారం కాదు.

నిరంజన్ ఇక లేడనే వార్త నా హృదయాన్ని తీవ్రంగా కలచివేసింది.

కొద్ది రోజుల క్రితం హనుమకొండలో నిరంజన్ ఇంటికి వెళ్లి కలిసిన ఆ క్షణాలు ఇంకా నా మదిలో సజీవంగానే ఉన్నాయి. తీవ్రమైన అనారోగ్యంతో పోరాడుతూనే నా కోసం ఎదురుచూసిన ఆ చిన్నారి… నన్ను చూడగానే అతని ముఖంపై విరిసిన ఆ చిరునవ్వు… ఇవన్నీ ఎప్పటికీ మరువలేని జ్ఞాపకాలుగా నిలిచిపోతాయి.

అతని శరీరం వ్యాధితో పోరాడినా, అతని మనసు మాత్రం అపారమైన ధైర్యంతో నిలిచింది. అంతటి బాధను అనుభవిస్తూ కూడా జీవితం పట్ల అతను చూపిన ఆశ, ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం ఎంతో విలువైనవి. అలాంటి ధైర్యవంతుడైన చిన్నారి ఇంత త్వరగా మనల్ని విడిచి వెళ్లిపోవడం ఎంతో బాధాకరం.

నిరంజన్ కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు నా ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతిని తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. తీరని దుఃఖాన్ని భరించే శక్తిని భగవంతుడు వారికి ప్రసాదించాలని ప్రార్థిస్తున్నాను.

ప్రియమైన నిరంజన్… నువ్వు చూపించిన చిరునవ్వు, ధైర్యం, నువ్వు పంచిన ప్రేమ నా హృదయంలో ఎప్పటికీ నిలిచిపోతాయి. నీ ఆత్మకు శాంతి చేకూరాలని భగవంతుడిని ప్రార్థిస్తున్నాను.
