Texas just made weed a felony after over 70% of voters voted to legalize it. Is this what we call a democracy when the representatives of a state will openly defy the will of voters because incarceration rates went down so much and prisons lost money? Texas is a fucking republican-ran hellhole.
BREAKING: The White House Press Secretary just announced the Trump regime is "working very hard to root out" Americans exercising their 1st Amendment right to free speech.
That's fascism, folks.
🚨BREAKING: As Trump illegally bombs Venezuela and captures its president, a video of him promising to not start wars and deliver only peace is going viral.
The entire Senate should grow a spine and call for impeachment.
Three years ago, I was proud to sign the Respect for Marriage Act into law. Deciding whether to marry, and who to marry, is one of the most profound decisions a person can make. Marriage is a simple proposition: who do you love, and will you be loyal to the person you love? It’s not more complicated than that.
Today, we celebrate the courage of all who made that day possible. It’s that kind of progress that gives us hope that, with every generation, we will continue our journey toward a more perfect union.
You guys DO know he’s simply baiting everyone with all this ICE terrorism of cities, so he can then declare Martial Law and cancel the election(s), right? Please understand this.
We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was: a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a “mistake,” who after the violent attack on Paul Pelosi claimed that “some amazing patriot out there” should bail out his assailant, and accused Jews of controlling “not just the colleges – it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it.”
His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans – far from “working tirelessly to promote unity” as asserted by the majority in this resolution.”
We can condemn his horrific assassination and the scourge of political violence without uplifting these ideas.
What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.
This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.
We cannot dare to be silent or complacent in the face of this frontal assault on free speech.
We, the People, deserve better.
The scourge of gun violence and political violence must end.
The shooting of Charlie Kirk is the latest incident of this chaos and it must stop. We cannot go down this road.
There is no place for it in America and we wish for his recovery.
When you tell someone facing eviction that they should “just get a job,” remember that a full time, minimum wage worker can afford rent in ZERO states in America.
ZERO.
We can’t let 11 million households be evicted in the midst of a pandemic. Congress must act. Now.
My department is so severely understaffed and is getting daily projects that surpass any other month EVER recorded. Can’t keep our heads above water, but they refuse to hire more people. S. O. S.
