When I told my 8th grade SS students about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation they broke our into applause and cheers. Say what you want about teenagers but the energy from my students’ genuine and communal excitement about this historic event was pure magic.
When it’s your first class after lunch, sometimes a 5 minute @onepeloton guided meditation Do Now is just the thing to help you to settle your body and get your mind ready to learn and think like a historian!
I’ve always been a sucker for a good motivational quote so it filled my heart with joy to put up a set of @onepeloton motivational quotes in my classroom today to inspire my new students this year!
Life is anything but ordinary or boring these days and my students continue to amaze me with their resiliency and enthusiasm for trying new things such as today’s Zoom breakout rooms book club meetings with all of our virtual and hybrid classmates😊.

Today, in honor of 9/11, we wrote about heroism. I truly believe my students have the ability, insight and heart to change the world. "A hero raises their voice not so they can shout but so they can speak for those who are not heard." @GRMiddleSchool#rockGRNJ#NeverForget
