Here's a great article on the psychological distress and coping strategies of NY #healthcare workers during #COVID19 Gave insight for my #scicomm article

Many don’t realize health websites which promote carbs “make you fat” are actually promoting #pseudoscience! Anti-vax individuals are also believing pseudoscience as there is no evidence that supports #vaccines are detrimental to healthy humans! #sciencecommunication@carinbondar
@muneezashah@UFVscience@carinbondar Definitely! Regardless of why they’re promoting, it’s always a good idea to get some background knowledge on the product
Many have #celebrities they really admire and will buy anything they endorse without question. Nothing wrong with loving a celebrity but be skeptical people! #Research the product. You’re not less of a fan if you don’t buy everything they promote @UFVscience@carinbondar
#Celebrities endorsing things related to science can be dangerous. A lot of people will see them as reliable sources and argue with those saying otherwise. An example being @DrOz who has a medical degree yet is known to have given advice based on pseudoscience. #factcheck#always
#Celebrity impact is undeniable and endorsements by them are easy ways for companies to make $$. Some examples are SugarBearHair and FitTea. What are the chances celebrities endorsing the products actually use them? @UFVscience@carinbondar#scicommchat https://t.co/wXdPRIJoL1
I’m #grateful to be living in a first world country where clean drinking water, electricity, and much more has never been a concern. Projects like @lightempowered makes it easier to dream of a #future where all will have access to basic necessities one day https://t.co/7k3p2tUIC6
@wildlifedirect is an amazing organization who’s aim is to conserve wildlife. In #Kenya, it tracks the movement of elephants and protects them from poaching. We should all try to inform ourselves more on such topics so we can help! https://t.co/W0BuYoXhuQ #scicommchat
(3/3) Alongside promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce our carbon footprint, @EarthEcho promotes STEM. By using real life experiences, more children will gravitate towards #STEM in their later years. This will help develop more ideas to manage the Earth and its resources
(1/3) Great to see celebrities such as @LeoDiCaprio using their fame to help spread awareness for different causes around the world! His foundation has so many different initiatives, here’s a link to check them out https://t.co/2F2sJqWsiq @UFVscience@carinbondar#scicommchat
(2/3) One of my personal favourites is @EarthEcho which aims to provide #environmental education to children. This will help them understand issues around the world and develop ways to tackle them! https://t.co/u1G2BvY8Oc
@Twitter is filled with various users and different communities formed. Those seeking #scientific knowledge will find it here. I wonder how it can be spread to more users though and grab their interest🤔 #scicommchat
@Opharsh_@UFVscience Completely agree with you Opharsh! It is baffling why people would want to put someone on such a high pedestal when there are more qualified candidates available
(1/2) #Trust is important in all relationships. In order to have one listen and respect the other, it is hard without trust. Taking this #pandemic and the US as an example, trust is a huge problem between citizens and @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/itrUM1NGod
Alongside the creation of a #vaccine, implementation of it is just as important! It’s sad how those in third world countries have significantly less access to #healthcare compared to first world countries. More research in this is essential! @UFVscience@carinbondar#scicommchat
