Each center received approximately 8 kilowatts of solar and approximately 20 kilowatt hours of energy storage (batteries). #NewsismyBusiness

We would like to thank our funders and supporters in this project including @sunrun, The Electric Planet Foundation, @kresgefdn, @CCRSolar as well as many individual donors, & our local installers @azgrouppr & @airekoenergygroup
We’ve officially donated 11 solar energy systems to Puerto Rico’s Fire Department. Our 1st projects in PR right after Hurricane María’s impact. They allowed first responders to continue providing services during those difficult times & the continuous power outages since.
Despite sufficient global food production, over 690 million people face hunger yearly, exacerbated by extreme weather and disrupted supply chains. Read more about Empowered by Light’s project in support of food sovereignty here: https://t.co/KjZ4jcaqfZ
Africa’s severe drought is impacting millions of humans. It’s also impacting animals who can’t find food & their watering holes are drying up leaving them thirsty & dehydrated. Read about our work with solar powered water pumps in Hwange National Park https://t.co/zJLZ6jCAn7
The Amazon is on fire. This year’s fire season has broken records with over 30 million acres burned in the Amazon Rainforest and Pantanal Wetlands, releasing roughly 183 megatons of carbon emissions. Read more about it here: https://t.co/3fZDUd96s2
Last month we had a new project in Salinas, Puerto Rico with the collaboration of @GRID, Solar Technology PR, @Canadian_Solar & CED Greentech Puerto Rico. Read more about it here: https://t.co/vb2QURptDC
We’re working to create a future where renewable energy—like solar—powers our world, reducing harmful emissions & protecting our air quality.
Cleaner energy means cleaner air for generations to come. Join us creating a more sustainable, breathable future!

Our most recent installation in Puerto Rico was at the La Mina Community Center in Naguabo. This week they were able to store refrigerated medications for community members while they wait for the electricity to come back to the area after Tropical Storm Ernesto.
Last Christmas we asked you to help fund a solar energy+storage project for COREFI, a service organization in Vieques, Puerto Rico. This Spring we installed it. Today, Vieques is without power, but they're using their system to feed first responders & the elderly after TS Ernesto
This storm serves as a stark reminder of why sustainable energy solutions like solar power are crucial for a brighter, more resilient future. Let's continue to empower #PuertoRico with clean, reliable energy that can weather any storm. #TropicalStormErnesto
Our hearts are with our friends & staff who are under the impact of Tropical Storm Ernesto. With over 25 projects on the island, we’re aware of Puerto Rico’s weak energy grid. According to the energy company’s president people need to prepare for prolonged service interruptions.
