#MainVapasAaunga is a gutting tale of love & longing. Imtiaz Ali has created a film that asks us to be better & do better & Naseer Sir delivers one of the great performances of Indian cinema. That moment at the end when he fixes his beard is an instant classic. I wept copiously!
🚨 David Beckham on Cape Verde’s elimination after pushing Argentina to extra time in the FIFA World Cup:
🗣️ “This is the cruelest side of football. Cape Verde have been eliminated, but they leave this tournament with something far more important than just a scoreline—they leave with the respect of the entire football world. They took the defending world champions all the way into extra time and made Argentina fight for every single minute. Nobody expected that before kick-off.
When I think about this performance, I think about Vozinha first. His saves kept Cape Verde alive when many teams would have collapsed. Then you have Deroy Duarte and Sydney Lopes, two players who will forever be remembered in their country’s football history. They scored against Argentina, they believed when so many people doubted them, and they gave millions of Cape Verdeans a night they will never forget.
People will only remember that Argentina qualified, but those who truly understand football will remember how close Cape Verde came to creating one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history. They never hid, they never stopped running, and they never accepted that they were supposed to lose. Every challenge, every tackle, every attack showed a team playing with pride, courage, and absolute belief.
This is not a story of failure. This is a story of a nation announcing itself to the football world. Cape Verde arrived at this World Cup as outsiders, but they leave having proven they belong on the biggest stage. They stretched the world champions to their absolute limit, forced them into extra time, and made them earn every second of their qualification.
Football can be incredibly unfair. Sometimes the team that captures the hearts of everyone watching is not the team that advances. But no whistle can erase what Cape Verde have achieved. Vozinha, Deroy Duarte, Sydney Lopes, and every player wearing that shirt have inspired a generation. Argentina continue their journey, but Cape Verde leave this World Cup as heroes.”

For the 4th team, It seems KKR is the team winning a lot in their last 5 matches; and if form is an indicator; they r hot davorites to win their last 2 matches. Other teams in contention - RR, PBKS, DC and CSK are all on loosing streaks and hence low on confidence.
A laughter fest like no other. 😂

[Ami KKR, Knight Bite, @kingfisherworld, TATA IPL 2026]
There will be a lot of posts about what @KKRiders should do now that they are basically out of the IPL, the fastest any team has been if I recall correctly. Retain who, let go who. All of these are futile, because they work under the presumption that someone in the franchise cares about doing the right thing. What is more useful is reconciling with what they will do.
1. They will keep Venky Mysore. This makes total sense. He has led the Knight Riders to many zero-win seasons, in the US league and in the Abu Dhabi league, and if you do not reward consistent performance, then what kind of an organization are you? I mean who better than an accountant to run two businesses that require passion----a sports franchise AND a movie franchise (Red Chillies), both together? Shreyas Iyer once complained that the CEO influences team selection. That is even more reason why he should and would be kept forever, like the spirits in Hotel California, because who would ever question the judgement of a man who at the auction table buys diamonds in the rough like Baba Indrajith (or was it Aparajith), Sheldon Jackson (twice).Truly a money balls guy.
And not only does he go long, he goes short too: letting Suryakumar Yadav (in his prime), Shubman Gill (in his prime), and Shreyas Iyer (in his prime) go to other franchises, while holding onto solid investments like Rambo (Ramandeep), who neither bats nor bowls, as useful as the cover sheet on an excel file or the BJP's chief electoral strategist in Bengal, and Rinku Singh whose career reflects the typical arc of Rajesh Khanna-Govinda movies of the early 80s: the poor super achieving village kid who loses his way once he gets rich and goes to the city.
And if anyone ever wanted to see the art of buying high and selling low, his masterclass auction strategy for Venky Iyer will be taught forever in Galgotia Center of Investing Excellence.
Every other franchise would have let this guy go years ago, but Knight Riders is not any franchise. It is the Baazigar one: losing is its victory.
2. Similarly they will keep their entire coaching staff except Shane Watson. Dwayne Bravo brings immense value to the franchise bringing chicks home to roost and teaching dance steps for their social media channels, and Abhishek Nayar has really good muscles and what Bengali ladies call "good face cutting'.
3. Finally they will let Finn Allen and Cam Green go, and indeed they should, together with Varun Chakraborty, so that these players might find their cricketing mojo, in the way De Kock has found, after being released by KKR, and Kuldeep Yadav too did, a few years ago. Kolkata has had let industry go for a long time, and we are used to things of value leaving, because you know "if you love something let it go, if it was yours, it will come back", and that would be Manish Pandey and Rahul Tripathy, who come back like a bad penny.
Please Knight Riders. Never change.
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
NASA just released a stunning picture of earth taken by the Artemis astronauts. And someone said it was our latest group photo.
It was, all of us, that's all of us other than the 4 in Artemis and 10 in the International Space Station. Iranians and Americans, Arabs and Jews, mothers and daughters, dog lovers and cat fanciers. Musicians and mechanics, microbiologists and merchandisers...
That's all we have together.
Congrats to India @BCCI on a tremendous performance. England’s batsmen, especially Bethell, put up a great fight but we lost it earlier in the field.
Bumrah brilliant, as always.
