Frogs are trending in the research world this month, though it is sad that it's the result of the incredible amount of threats they are exposed to, globally! ☠️🐸 #nature#amphibian https://t.co/Yc4WjLc3Pt
🚨 State of the World's Amphibians is out! 🚨

Research Briefing with @amael on the GAA2 paper in @nature. Amphibians are the most at-risk vertebrates worldwide (41% threatened with extinction). We MUST scale up investment in amphibian conservation to prevent further extinctions and reverse declines

A @Nature paper suggests that amphibians continue to be the most threatened class of vertebrates and are deteriorating globally. The authors call for urgent scaled-up investment and policy responses to support the survival and recovery of amphibians. https://t.co/mOVRv03Rfh
"Climate change emerges as major driver of amphibian declines globally, according to watershed paper published in Nature". A massive collaboration to understand the threats to amphibians, led by the Amphibian Red List Authority of the @ASG_IUCN https://t.co/q6EMu4SQkV
We often get confronted with conservation problems, and Sustainable Daisen NPO exposed the Lab within the context of the IUCN Amphibian Specialist Group to the "solvable" plea of the Japanese Giant Salamanders (Andrias japonicus) in the Nawa River Basin.
It took a few months, but we went there, with a 16 people strong team of conservation researchers, with skills including behavioural ecology, landscape use, eDNA, landscape modeling, cognition, drone survey, ecological needs, landscape restoration, all linked to conservation...
Given the urgency of drastic #biodiversity losses, modern #conservation biologists need to advocate for effective conservation #policies and avoid implicitly accepting the current mass extinction.

Excited for #ICCB2023! 🌟 Our Chair @jonparod had a fantastic meeting with some of our volunteer experts attending the @ICCB2023 to explore Commission memberships and unique opportunities. Are you interested in joining us?
Four species of green treefrog live in the lowlands around the Yellow Sea in Asia. Three of the species inhabit traditionally managed rice paddies. @amarzeeat is working to find out where these tree frogs are and what help they need to #survive.
