June 1 is #WorldReefAwarenessDay.

Why does #OOC matter?👇
Sigweya!
What a poetic, healing way to process heavy emotions that come with death. That it's also phrased directly to the deceased is incredible for expressing painful/traumatic feelings. Again, cultural intelligence dismissed as unnecessary drama.
She thanked her father, the late Raila Odinga, when he was still alive. She understood the sacrifices he made for the people of Kenya. His family supported him until his last breath. I see Winnie walking on the footpath her father trekked because she got the courage when he told her that the crowds she was scared of were her people while on a tractor, as he showed her where he spent his best time fighting for a selfless cause. I see a strong woman who understands her father's mission, and she has the stamina to carry the mantle and a torch, that will shine a light in the corners of Kenya where her late father faced resistance. #RIPRailaOdinga
