Before you begin your thinkpiece, the Supreme Court DID NOT strike down Affirmative Action
Admission preferences for legacies, donors, employee families and special recommendations are still allowed
The Court struck down Affirmative Action For everyone except WHITE PEOPLE
we have our current criminal justice system because we have fetishized guns, criminalized addiction, neglected mental and emotional health, and resisted addressing social factors driving crime.
We could do it differently. We simply don’t want to.

When we look at Auschwitz we see the end of the process. It's important to remember that the Holocaust actually did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanisation & escalating violence.
There is no form of protest against #racism that will be acceptable to racist people.
There is no method for teaching the past or present harm of racism/white supremacy that will be palatable to people who are comfortable with where we are and with being benefactors of racism.
Many of you saw that video of police facing off with a school principal who wouldn't let them in.
But do you know how bad police encounters are for education? Very. Some facts:
A reminder that law enforcement *responds* to crime, but a living wage, food and water security, accessible healthcare, and public education *prevent* crime.
If you want safer communities, invest in people, not punishments.
@ConnieSchultz This looks like a CAPTCHA that asks you to select all squares containing dogs. Whether one selects the center square separates human from bot.
The U.S. spends far more on police, prosecutors, and prisons than any society in recorded world history. And yet U.S. is still a violent society. The core goal of copaganda is to deceive people about the true threats to our well-being and to deceive us about what makes us safe.
The rise in the propaganda budget of the Chicago Police Department after cops murdered Laquan McDonald (and then covered it up) is one of the most under-examined news stories of the last several years. https://t.co/LKoYtNx5cC

1/ As people flee Twitter, or threaten to, in response to Elon’s takeover and the harassment it has already spawned and likely will bc of less content moderation, there are some things I’ve noticed. Please follow this thread and share it. It’s sorta important…
In 1959, 69 black boys were padlocked in their dormitory at school and it was then set on fire.
21 burnt to death while 48 managed to escape.
