Supreme Youth Club Pithoragarh has successfully completed a seven-day ‘Himalayan Sanskaran Padyatra’, a powerful initiative aimed at spreading climate awareness across the high Himalayan regions.

The padyatra began from Dharchula and concluded at the sacred Adi Kailash, covering some of the most remote, sensitive and ecologically fragile zones of Kumaon. Throughout the journey, the dedicated youth team undertook several impactful activities:

🌿 Climate Awareness Interactions:
Engaged with local villagers, shopkeepers, border-area communities and nomadic groups to discuss sustainable practices and the need to preserve the Himalayan ecosystem.

🎭 Nukkad Nataks:
Performed street plays at multiple halts to communicate the dangers of climate change, rising temperatures, deforestation and waste mismanagement — in a language that connected deeply with the local population.

👥 Tourist Engagement:
Met and sensitised visiting pilgrims and trekkers enroute, encouraging responsible tourism, minimal-waste travel and respect for the cultural and natural heritage of the region.

🧹 Cleanliness Drives:
Organised Swachhta campaigns at key border-area tourist locations, collecting litter, cleaning trails, and promoting the idea of “Carry In – Carry Out” to keep the Himalayas pristine.

💪 Youth Leadership & Responsibility:
This padyatra stands as a shining example of how motivated young citizens can take the lead in protecting the environment and inspiring communities across the mountains.

Their efforts not only raised awareness but also strengthened the message that climate action begins with individual responsibility and collective resolve. 🏔️🌏
