So it turns out that what actually happened was that Mozambique (the southern African nation) has a province called "Gaza," and @USAID has (had) a contraceptive program there aimed at HIV prevention, one part of which (not $50 million) paid for condoms.

Then the @doge brain trust just CTRL-Fed some document they didn't read for "Gaza" and tweeted out the first thing they saw, with no idea what any of it actually was. And now it's just another social media cloud of nonsense.

The production of bullshit will always out-run corrections to it. There's just no way to scalably respond to nonsense, especially the kind spread by bad-faith actors on the internet. People just have to learn that some folks out here aren't being straight with you.

OK ranks 49th in edu outcomes & we continue to trail behind regionally re: teacher pay & per-pupil expenditures & yet, unsurprisingly, this is his priority. Our state’s leaders aren’t focused on us, only the support & attention of DJT. We’ll see if GOP leaders push back on this.
