To anyone expecting Opus-5 to make a massive leap over Fable:
Sorry to break it to you, but we’ve been hitting a wall in AI progress for months now.
There are no revolutionary breakthroughs. Everything from data curation and weight compression to compute efficiency has stalled out.
We like to think we are accelerating, but looking at it objectively, the progress from Opus-4.5 to 4.8 is tiny—it’s mostly just harness improvements.
In the end, every company chose to force-feed their weight sizes simply as a defensive move for their massive funding.
Starting from Fable, to Sol, Grok, and literally all the Chinese AIs—they all just bloated their weights.
This brought massive inefficiency to data center racks and only worsened the already scarce compute.
And that is precisely what gave latecomers like Chinese labs and xAI the time to catch up.
Due to this bottleneck, the first-mover advantage that frontier labs used to enjoy is rapidly shrinking.
Now, the race has simply reset back to the same starting line: whoever brings the next real innovation wins.
BREAKING: Grok 4.5 for Excel is now live. It works directly inside Excel to:
• Analyze data
• Write formulas in plain English
• Create charts
• Build financial models
• Run forecasts and scenarios
No exports or copied tables. Just Grok inside your workbook.
Del Toro: “It was a little bit of a tricky roundabout. The signage wasn’t good, so the first guys from Visma maybe didn’t take the best option, and then we followed.
At the end, I had to decide whether to crash myself or go into Tadej. So I decided to crash myself.”

What do we know about a sudden UCI doping control of Pogačar and Vingegaard?
Tadej Pogačar: "I slept 4 hours last night. It was at 5 a.m. for me. I usually go to sleep late. They usually do it in the morning, but this time they chose nighttime.”
“Unfortunately, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I was chilling listening to some old Eminem hits and making coffee, fully caffeinated and ready to start the day.”
Florian Vermeersch: "Tadej handled it well, but I find it almost inhuman and insane. As far as I know, it is also the first time he has been woken up so early for this. People will say that we are complaining and whining. But it is ridiculous. I think Tadej only slept five hours."
Jonas Vingegaard: "Someone knocked on my door at two in the morning. It really surprises me, it's fine for them to do tests, but when they affect sleep and performance. At first, I thought they weren't allowed to, but apparently, according to the rules, it's permitted."
Matteo Jorgenson: "This is a complete lack of respect for the riders. We are focusing heavily on recovery. That is hugely important, especially between two of the toughest mountain stages. And then you get woken up at 2 a.m. That makes me really furious.”
Remco Evenepoel: “At two o’clock? That's impossible. No, that's not allowed? That's not right. What would I say if they were standing by my bed at that time? Nothing, because I’d just carry on sleeping.” #TDF2026

Until there’s an official Grok Build app, you can still use it from your iPhone or Android with Termius (or any other SSH client).
Just install Tailscale on your server, connect to the Tailscale IP in Termius, and run Grok Build from the command line as usual 👇

Kimi K3 vs GPT-5.6 Sol vs Fable 5
→ Kimi K3: 9.6/10 • $0.030
→ Fable 5: 7.4/10 - $0.38
→ GPT-5.6 Sol: 7,2/10 - $0.11
Just tested Qwen3.8-Max-Preview on my benchmark.
It got absolutely cooked.
Not Fable 5 level. Not even remotely close. It doesn't come close to GPT-5.6 or Opus 4.8 Max either.
Honestly, marketing it at that level feels incredibly misleading. I wasted my time and money testing this. Qwen, refund me.
