I haven't posted this before. It's from a newspaper article circa 1986 but someone sent it to me. They'd kept a clipping. All these years.

I was manipulated by journalists to talk about the childrens home I had been in. I was 16. They went to town on the piece and I was left feeling very vulnerable. That said, prison sentences followed for two of the staff.

Suffice it to say, I have been working on system change for a bloody long time! I won't stop. I will never stop. We're all a team on here, and we're doing it together! ✌️

Having just read a bizarre opinion piece linking attachment theory, violence, attendance and parent blaming in the clumsiest of ways, in an attempt to 'add' to the debate, I'm reminded that every single article written for @TICSltd is heavily referenced, evidence based and with a clear working knowledge of the theoretical components and frameworks that may be being referred to. Be mindful: research led vs opinion piece.

The reminiscing about the year has commenced and 2023 started with creating @TICSltd and expansion with gathering and developing a community of TICS associates, and then ending with a life changing diagnosis and in between, working with a multitude of organisations, schools, VRPs, education settings, charities, Local Authorities and so many more throughout the year. 2024 will continue with growing, supporting, nurturing and transforming those we serve.

I've never worked a day in my life and I shall continue to do that... when it's your passion, it isn't work. But next year I'll go more gently, as obviously my body needs me to. I'll try at least. That said, there is a PhD to defend, a book to write for Routledge and an offering to expand. Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball 🎵
