@KrauseFx I use @backblaze for my own cloud backups and they already saved my ass twice, btw.
But I also have plenty of local copies of all of my data.
I really wish apple made incremental, browsable cloud backup a thing, something just like Time Machine.

@KrauseFx After a debacle with apple having corrupted an iCloud backup of a phone (fortunately, my secondary) and also losing it while “fixing” it for a month, I started doing full local backups. I should check if they include WhatsApp chats, though…? Anyways, don’t trust cloud backups

Since then I make local backups of my phones, too. I always thought cloud data was properly backed up. It is not. And for Apple, the worst thing is that you can't clearly access the data in your cloud. You have to use their interface, no matter what.

@koingosoftware I had a very similar experience to yours, fortunately with a secondary device/account. iPhone had the "system data" to 80/90 gigabytes bug. It ruined its online backup that could not be restored. Apple support made me wait 3 months while for them to fix it

they tried to make me recover the backup many times and in the end after 3 months the backup got overwritten. They did not make a backup of the backup, even though they knew it was the only copy of the data. Fortunately no crucial data was lost. Just a nuisance.

@divamgupta hey, have you had any luck trying to make Dreambooth SD run on M1? So far any attempt on my part has quite failed, problems with pytorch loading the model. It would be great to give dreambooth to everybody with a good UI.

@abouelatta_ali I have a big problem with streaks and wish that language apps weren’t so focused on them: after you lose a multi hundred days streak, there’s no way you do it again. It requires so much effort, you just drop it. I wish somebody tried implementing capped streaks.

They focus a lot on some parts they don't like, but if you see, it's a minority of the book, and they actually agree with a lot of the stuff. Weird.
