بحرین کے مقام پر مین کالام روڈ پر تعمیر کیا گیا یہ حفاظتی پشتہ مبینہ طورپرصرف ایک ماہ ہی قائم رہ سکا، حالانکہ حالیہ بارش کسی صورت شدید نہیں تھی۔ اس صورتحال نے تعمیر کے معیار پر سنگین سوالات کھڑے کر دیے ہیں کہ آیا اس میں کمزور یا غیر معیاری مٹیریل استعمال کیا گیا تھا؟
یہ پشتہ 2022 کے تباہ کن سیلاب میں بہہ گیا تھا، جس کی تعمیرِ نو تقریباً ایک ماہ قبل مکمل کی گئی تھی۔ تاہم حالیہ برفباری اور ��عمولی بارشوں کے بعد مذکورہ پشتہ ایک بار پھر شدید متاثر ہو گیا ہے اور مختلف مقامات سے ٹوٹ پھوٹ کا شکار ہے۔موجودہ صورتحال میں بڑی گاڑیوں کے لیے کسی بھی وقت کوئی ناخوشگوار حادثہ رونما ہو سکتا ہے، جو قیمتی انسانی جانوں کے ساتھ ساتھ سرکاری وسائل کے مزید ضیاع کا سبب بن سکتا ہے۔ ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ متعلقہ ادارے فوری نوٹس لیتے ہوئے تعمیراتی معیار، استعمال شدہ مٹیریل اور ذمہ داروں کا تعین کریں تاکہ مستقبل میں اس طرح کے نقصانات اور خطرات سے بچا جا سکے

Loss (if any) of (innocent) human life is tragic and deserves empathy.

Nevertheless, it is still not confirmed that Katlang Incident is a case of bad intelligence or of unfortunate collateral.

Responsible leadership must avoid emotional rhetoric and political point-scoring (and not always make it a standard practice to weaponize everything against military).

As of this hour, key questions about the identity, movement, and behavior of those killed remain unanswered. But instead of looking for clarity, you have chosen to immediately cast aspersions on national security institutions.

If these individuals were indeed innocent civilians, why have no relatives come forward? Why were their movements inconsistent with seasonal migration patterns? Why was the gender distribution so atypical of genuine shepherding groups? Where are the herds / livestock?

Before accusing the state of insensitivity, you must endeavor to find answers to these questions.

Last but not the least, strengthening the state doesn’t mean making it “hard”; it means making it just: and justice begins with facts, not blame.
