someone said there’s a pandemic of low IQ individuals in the society. and it’s a bad thing for the country generally.

As a member of the society, you owe it to the society to at least have a reasonable level of intelligence, either from formal education or otherwise.

A society with more intellectual people, and a society with less, which do you think will be progressive? This is literally the epicenter of the conversation.

No one is asking anybody to not chase money, and if you have to fool to make it, by all means do.

The main point, we owe it to ourselves and the society at large, to attain a certain level of intelligence. This is how we become better as a society.

An averagely intelligent person will not throw their refuse by the road side, or litter their gutter. These little things that seem negligible build up to a national scale and that’s just one instance.

You can fool all you want to get what you want out of life, or pretend to be a fool to entertain us but don’t be an actual fool.

And intelligence is not only about being educated, there’s emotional intelligence, social intelligence. All of these things. I have typed too much.

Peller is not the problem IMO.

The real issue is a broken system designed to neglect and ignore intellect. A system that has consistently undermined the efforts of promising talents across academia, forcing our brightest minds to “japa” or settle for less.

BBN pays 100M+ to winners, a reality show, fine. But most schools can’t even award their best graduating students ₦100k. The state can’t guarantee them jobs. In my time, our best graduating student, an exceptionally brilliant guy destined for greatness now works as a successful freelancer, digital analyst and YouTuber. He’s doing really well, but that mind was built for more. Top-tier virologist material, serving the nation. We lost that potential and so many others.

Youth unemployment is at a high, quite alarming for nation with immense potential and one of the youngest population average on the planet.

We churn out graduates yearly but fail to harness them. It’s time to fix the system and not bash the symptoms.

You are free to love Ronaldo, but you cannot make an argument that he is greater than Messi.

What metrics do you want to measure with? Messi beats Ronaldo across the board.

But let’s flip their records. Would Messi still be greater than Cristiano Ronaldo if:

Messi had 35 trophies, while Ronaldo had 46, the highest in the world?

Messi had five Ballon d’Ors, while Ronaldo had eight?

Messi had 8 domestic titles, while Ronaldo had 13+?

Messi had just the Euros and two Nations Leagues, while Ronaldo had a World Cup, two Copas, one Olympic medal, and one Finalissima?

Messi had 2 FIFA The Best awards, while Ronaldo had 3?

Messi had 4 Golden Shoes, while Ronaldo had 6?

Messi had 0 World Cup Golden Balls, while Ronaldo had 2?

Messi had 0 World Cup Golden Boots, while Ronaldo had 1?

Messi had 960+ goals, while Ronaldo had 900+, but also the most assists, dribbles, and chances created, while playing two fewer years than him?
