KADUNA UPDATE: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has commended the Kaduna State Government’s FREE CNG mass transit programme under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, CON describing the initiative as an example of the kind of intervention needed at the subnational level.
In a post on his official X account, President Tinubu specifically highlighted Kaduna’s deployment of 100 CNG-powered buses, which carried approximately 3.2 million passengers in their first year of operation, saving commuters more than ₦3.5 billion in transportation costs. Kaduna is currently the only state in Nigeria operating a free CNG mass transit programme of this nature.
The presidential recognition underscores the significance of Kaduna’s CNG mass transit programme as part of Governor Uba Sani’s broader efforts to deliver practical interventions that directly improve the welfare and living standards of residents.

Breaking News:
The National Sports Commission approved #1.5 billion to build sports facilities at Kaduna State University (KASU), a significant investment in our students, infrastructure, and future.
With the support of the Kaduna State Government under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, along with strategic engagement and collaboration, KASU continues to attract major investments, research funding, and development opportunities.
Today, I was pleased to present CNG-powered buses to the Kaduna State chapters and branches of five institutions of critical importance to our collective wellbeing: the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), and Kaduna State University (KASU). These institutions occupy indispensable positions in our society. Through healthcare, justice, journalism, education and corrections, they help sustain the foundations of a functional, secure and progressive society. I commend their leadership and members for their professionalism, dedication and steadfast commitment to public service.
The provision of these operational vehicles is intended to strengthen mobility, improve institutional efficiency and enable these organisations to discharge their responsibilities more effectively. It is also a practical expression of our administration’s belief that meaningful governance is strengthened by constructive partnerships with the institutions that serve our people.
The leadership of the beneficiary organisations expressed appreciation for the support of our administration and for the enabling environment we continue to foster. Their commendation reinforces our conviction that government works best when it listens, collaborates and builds enduring relationships with institutions across society.
We shall continue to deepen these partnerships and support institutions whose work advances the welfare, stability and development of Kaduna State. Our shared objective remains clear: to build a state in which institutions are strengthened, professionals are empowered, and every citizen has greater opportunity to thrive.

I was honoured to attend the National Seminar of Fityanul Islam of Nigeria as Special Guest of Honour at the newly commissioned Muhammadu Buhari Hall in Kaduna. The seminar brought together more than 2,000 members of the First Aid Group from across the country for intensive training in administration, first-aid response, discipline, dress code, and specialised sessions by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Beyond the training itself, the seminar represents an important investment in civic responsibility. In moments of crisis, communities are often strengthened not only by institutions, but by citizens equipped with the knowledge, discipline and practical skills to respond effectively. I commend the leadership of Fityanul Islam for sustaining this culture of service and for placing human capacity development at the heart of community wellbeing.
I was deeply humbled to receive an Award of Excellence in recognition of the progress recorded in security and public safety across Kaduna State, our commitment to responsible leadership, and our support for humanity. I accept this honour on behalf of the people of Kaduna State.
The commendations on our administration’s efforts to strengthen security, foster peace, support vulnerable citizens and invest in human capital are encouraging. They also reinforce our responsibility to do more. Our commitment remains unwavering: to build a Kaduna where governance is measured by the welfare, dignity, security and wellbeing of every citizen.

Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the Monitoring and Compliance Committee of the APC Osun State Governorship Campaign Council, H.E Senator Uba Sani, CON, arrived in Osogbo alongside party leaders ahead of the grand rally.
They were received by former Osun Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E Gboyega Oyetola. The Governor and the party stakeholders are in Osun to support APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the governorship election. #OsunDecides2026
I was in Osogbo today as Chairman of the Monitoring and Compliance Committee of the APC Osun State Governorship Campaign Council, joining our great party at its Grand Rally in support of our candidate for the gubernatorial election that holds this Saturday, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
I delivered a goodwill message and engaged with our dear citizens from northern parts of the country that reside in Osun State, underscoring the imperative of peaceful, responsible and inclusive participation in Saturday’s election. Osun stands at a defining moment, and the choice before its people is both consequential and clear: to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda of our great leader, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and open the way to greater opportunities, investment and transformation.
The APC has demonstrated that meaningful development is possible when leadership is purposeful, visionary and firmly anchored in the aspirations of the people. With AMBO, the very popular and experienced gubernatorial candidate of APC, Osun can attract greater investment, expand economic opportunities, empower its youthful population and harness its abundant human and material resources for sustainable growth.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is one of Nigeria’s foremost champions of democracy and remains deeply committed to peace, justice and fairness. We are confident that, under his leadership, the Osun election will be free, fair, peaceful and credible.
The impressive turnout, the enthusiasm of our supporters and the palpable optimism across Osun are unmistakable. The people are ready for the APC and for Renewed Hope. I therefore urge the people of Osun to come out peacefully on Saturday and vote for AMBO.

@ubasanius This is indeed a welcome development; Kaduna has its shared interested vested in peaceful coexistence, this is as result of the Governor Uba Sani steadfast to restore balance in our mutual relationships. Kudos Your Excellency
I was honoured to participate in the International Conference on “Diversity and Social Peace: Partnership for a Promising Future,” organised by the Muslim World League and Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The gathering of leaders and stakeholders from across religious, ethnic, political and racial divides reaffirmed a profound truth: our diversity should be a source of strength, not division. Peaceful coexistence is indispensable to Nigeria’s stability, development and shared prosperity.
In Kaduna State, we have demonstrated that inclusive governance can fundamentally reshape the narrative. Since assuming office, our administration has pursued a leadership philosophy that recognises every citizen as an equal stakeholder, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation. Through sustained dialogue, community engagement and purposeful partnerships, we have confronted longstanding sources of tension, rebuilt confidence and strengthened the bonds that hold our communities together. Today, Kaduna is more peaceful, and our Kaduna Peace Model is increasingly inspiring other states to embrace inclusive approaches to insecurity and ethno-religious challenges.
I commend the Muslim World League and JIBWIS for convening this timely and consequential dialogue. I equally appreciate the Muslim World League led by the Secretary-General, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa for choosing Kaduna for this landmark Cardiac Centre, the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria and among the best in Nigeria. The choice of Kaduna is a global recognition of our administration’s commitment to inclusive leadership, religious harmony, peaceful coexistence and deliberate investment in healthcare. Established in partnership with the Kaduna State Government, the Centre is a fitting recognition of the peace, trust and progress we have collectively nurtured.

KADUNA: UBA SANI’s QUEST FOR EQUITY, FAIRNESS AND INCLUSION COMES FULL CIRCLE
By Alexander Babandimoche
For keen observers of Governor Uba Sani’s administration in Kaduna State, his desire for equity, justice, fairness and inclusion since he took the reins back in May 2923, has been top-notch. He has demonstrated it in words and in deed in all aspects.
Last week, he took this ‘campaign’ even higher with the formal introduction and announcement of Mr. Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, CNA, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The announcement a deliberate restoration and return to a long-standing understanding that had helped to hold a diverse state together. It was somehow whimsically set aside in 2019 and carried forward into 2023 under circumstances largely outside the then-candidate’s control.
But a week ago, Governor Uba Sani, in a Facebook post that quickly went viral wrote: “Today, we take another decisive step in our collective journey towards building a more united, peaceful and inclusive Kaduna State. After wide consultations, deep reflection and earnest prayers, I am delighted to announce the nomination of Mr. Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, CNA, as my running mate in the 2027 Governorship Election. This decision is far greater than the selection of a deputy governorship candidate. It is a reaffirmation of the values that have guided our administration since I took the oath of office on 29 May 2023; the values of inclusion, justice, fairness, equity and the unwavering conviction that every citizen of Kaduna State deserves a genuine sense of belonging.”
That declaration elicited instant applause and commendation across the state and the nation. The choice restored the traditional pairing that respects the two dominant religions of Islam and Christianity and the geographic and cultural divide between Northern and Southern Kaduna.
For years after the return to democracy in 1999, that formula provided a practical framework for power-sharing and a sense of belonging.
Governor @UbaSaniUS, a Muslim from the North, has now paired himself with a Christian from the South. The announcement ends the Muslim-Muslim tickets fielded by the All Progressives Congress in the state in 2019 and 2023.
To understand the weight of the moment, one must recall the sequence of governors and deputies since 1999. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, a Muslim from the North, governed from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. His first deputy was Stephen Shekari, a Christian from Southern Kaduna; after Shekari’s death in 2005, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, also a Christian from the South, completed the term and continued as deputy under the next administration. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Muslim from the North, served as governor from 29 May 2007 until 19 May 2010, when he became Vice President. His deputy, Yakowa then became governor from 20 May 2010 until his death in a helicopter crash on 15 December 2012; his deputy was Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, a Muslim. Yero completed the term as governor from December 2012 to 29 May 2015, with Nuhu Audu Bajoga, a Christian from Southern Kaduna, as deputy.
