As a light traveler, what the heck am I supposed to do with an extra complimentary bag? I'd welcome a higher carry-on allowance, so I can travel with *fewer* bags.
@craiganslow But yes, Qantas wasn't our first choice, we just booked too late - the whole trip needed approval first, papers accepted and website updated so the university can verify we should go there.
@craiganslow Given that their largest plane was spontaneously out of service, they handled it quite well: Food vouchers, cab vouchers, downtown hotel, and they summoned one of their other A380s overnight and re-booked connections without us needing to do anything...
At LHR for 8 hours. The longer you stay, the worse it gets: Long queues, packed buses, broken sockets, expensive food, unstable WiFi, hidden water fountains, not enough seating, the omnipresent announcements asking passengers to check their carry-on bags... 😬
The skill is called programming, but often we spend most of our time debugging. To get better at debugging, we organized Debugging Contests - fun events to hone our debugging skills. If you want to know more, my colleague @amintos will talk about it @splashcon at 22:00 UTC!
