Two types of entities are buying stocks now a days: foreigners and mutual funds
1) foreigners because they think the exchange rate will be stable in the medium term
2) mutual funds because they have been able to attract funds a little too late
Demand & supply in other words.
I was studying all listed bank stocks performance in first 9 months of this year, and here is what I learned:
Meezan and UBL were under investor highlight, former for supercharging its growth and later for increasing payouts to almost unsustainable level.
MCB is for me a real standout story. Solid earning growth and the best CASA after meezan. And continues to attract outsized current deposits and investing them well. MCB Islamic also growing and showing income growth.
My cousin Muhammad Akram, son of Hanif Qadri, who is mentally challenged is missing from Chungi Amar Sindhu area of Lahore. I request everyone, specially the ones with large followings, to share this post as much as possible and make it viral.
@sheryhydri If you were the govt on 9th May, what would you have done? They selectively blockd as little as possible while internet at home/off was working inc. all work related apps. I also work with local and international teams, and my work and my Pak team’s work not affected beyond 1 day

Holidays mode on. My reading companion are two books on national issues.
Those who claim to solve problems in society first need to understand the issues at hand intimately. In this regard I’m going to make it a point to read at least 50% of my books on local issues in 2023.
HBL stock is a story of Foriegn companies buying Govt of Pakistan’s 40% stake in 2015 for about $2 a share and selling it for $0.30 in 2021. All the HBL selling you see is foreigners exiting the stock. Below is Foriegn holding since 2014 taken from HBL annual reports. #hbl#psx
@ArifRetd In pakistan now a days, due to fatf and strict compliance laws, Foriegn payment can only be credited if it clears all the checks along the way. For example companies can’t send to individuals, individuals can’t send to companies, and the purpose of payment should be clear.
