I decided to never use a slip ring so I can have the option of high power and high speed communication protocols - CAN or Ethernet.
The actuator has a 12mm throughole through its entire length so you can run wires right through it. No major wite strain as the hole is in the center axis and wires get twisted if anything. It does not have unlimited rotation to be clear
Well the question is more for large actuators for heavy duty wheels or arm joints for that matter. Brushed DC motors don’t really get play.
Trying to see if cheap brushed motors can actually work long term without brush wear. Our controller has a current sensor so perhaps limiting current spike duration is the key?
