On being open about your sexuality as an LGBT+ teacher, @amjwhaley, 'Impact': " 'Is it worth it?' I ask myself, as I weigh up the invitation to be a role model for young people & a pioneer in my profession against my deep-rooted fear of rejection or interrogation." @CharteredColl

Evidence-informed teaching has to be built around each teacher's personality and desire for autonomy; let's celebrate that. @WALKTHRUs_5 https://t.co/43Xt8NmED7
Today marked the final session of the @MalmesburySchool Leadership Programme. ‘Overcoming Imposter Syndrome’, delivered by Jess Green. Such an enthusiastic and candid group of delegates. Great chat. Great year. @Athelstan_Trust #happycaringexcellent

"We desperately need political leadership that is focused on finding solutions to the big issues... We need to move beyond educational tinkering, beyond cheap soundbites and finally tackle the big issues on behalf of children and young people."

It's cold outside but our welcome is warm - great to be back @ICC_Birmingham and we're really looking forward to seeing many of you at #ASCL2023 today.
Thank you for all that you do on behalf of children and young people.
Have a great conference.

A really important shift. They’ve completed a worksheet and had it ticked off, but that doesn’t mean they *get* it? We have to ask ourselves, who is the ticking for?
So why hadn't the child learnt it?
Well, was it because the completion of the task was more important than whether they had really got it?
We can shift this
Instead of saying 'have you finished?'
We could say ' tell me what you've learnt'
