The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 firmly rejected China's call for the Philippines to abandon its initiatives and position regarding 𝐁𝐚𝐣𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜 (𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐥).
In a statement, the DND emphasized that BDM is an 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, and maintained that the Philippines' exercise of its sovereignty are in accordance with the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 (𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 2016 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.
Moreover, the Philippines affirmed it will continue to lawfully exercise its sovereignty and remain undeterred by China's aggressive activities, false narratives, and disruption of the rules-based international order.

THE MORE CHINA TRIES TO NORMALIZE ITS PRESENCE, THE MORE THE LIKE-MINDED NATIONS PREPARES TO RESIST IT | China wants its growing presence in the Philippine EEZ to look “normal.”
But intimidation is not normal.
Water-cannoning is not normal.
Blocking Philippine vessels is not normal.
Deploying more ships to enforce an expansive claim is not normal.
And pretending otherwise doesn’t make it true.
The irony is hard to miss: the very coercive tactics China uses to isolate the Philippines are pushing the Philippines closer to Japan, the United States, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, and other security partners.
Beijing’s strategy seems to be: expand presence, normalize pressure, weaken partnerships.
The result?
Stronger partnerships. More joint exercises. Greater defense cooperation. And a Philippines that is increasingly unwilling to stand alone.
If China wanted fewer countries to pay attention to the West Philippine Sea, perhaps it should stop giving them reasons to.
You cannot bully your way into legitimacy.
You cannot normalize coercion.
And you cannot intimidate a country into surrendering its rights.
The question is no longer “Why is the Philippines strengthening its alliances?”
The better question is:
“What did China do to make those alliances necessary?”

There are hundreds of videos like this where China Coast Guard can be seen harassing vessels of smaller nations, no matter where you look
There's enough evidence for the fact that China is NOT peaceful as it claims and it is undeniable.
This is my Philippine territory!" A Filipino fisherman bravely stands up to China Coast Guard goons driving him off near Scarborough Shoal.
Beijing using force to intimidate unarmed fishers in the PH EEZ is lawless and cowardly act.
But what you view as “inspiration” eh we view as unethical lobbying and the power of special connections and privileges.
Aminin niyo ni Robin, kaya napasa yung batas na yun eh dahil kilala niya at kilala siya ni then Senator Ramon Revilla Sr.
At kahit sabihin ni Robin sa likod mo na more than 1,000 people benefited from the law, nothing will change the fact that behind the scenes the primary reason why Ramon Revilla Sr. sponsored and pushed for that law is to benefit Robin Padilla.
Dahil high profile ang case ni Robin.
Dahil well connected sa showbiz si Robin.
Dahil galing sa showbiz industry si Ramon Revilla Sr.
That is the same set of circumstance why Robin got a conditional pardon from Fidel V. Ramos and an absolute pardon from Rodrigo Duterte (which explains why diehard Duterte supporter si Robin).
Kaya nga nakatakbo for Senator si Robin eh dahil talagang pinush niyo makakuha ng absolute pardon from Rodrigo Duterte.
Yuck!
😂

The Philippines' international engagements are consistently anchored on international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), said Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. during his keynote address at the MILOPS Conference.
A Chinese vessel tried to chase down a smaller Filipino fishing boat, only to get publicly embarrassed.
The Filipino fisherman turned the pursuit into a spectacle, mocked the bullies, and left them trailing helplessly behind.
This was the condition of CCG vessel after it collided with PLA Navy destroyer while trying to harass Filipino vessel.
China failed in its plan to bully us.
To salvage its image, it is blaming death of Chinese sailors on us. @leisbeth_recto@DefensePitz@CollinSLKoh
China is not winning through legitimacy—it is relying on intimidation, coercion, and persistence. Every act of harassment further damages its international credibility, strengthens regional resistance, and reinforces the global perception that its maritime claims cannot stand on law alone. The more Beijing attempts to normalize unlawful behavior, the more it exposes the weakness of its own position.
