The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty
@trailofbits@AnthropicAI You added an axiom and acknowledge this is not a kernel soundness issue. You should be embarrassed for putting out this kind of clickbait.
@ElliotGlazer@AcerFur@stalkermustang It was said with a smile, I'm just trying to bring some levity. As a general matter I welcome anything approaching legitimate criticism.
@josecalderon@kirancodes@samth No, it doesn't. The C++ kernel relies on some basic infrastructure that resides in the `src/runtime` directory, like utf8 utilities and hashing, but the kernel does not rely in any substantive way on "the (lean) runtime".
@davesnx Only toys, the strictness of the security model forced too many basic server-side operations into the C FFI. Abuse of postgres can probably side step much of that, but it was clunky and seemed self-defeating w.r.t. security. Would be cool to see a descendant in smthg like lean.
1. Today the Federal Circuit rejected Teva's bid to list device patents for inhalers in the Orange Book.
Practically this means that drug makers can't list patents for things like inhaler caps to block generic rivals from the market & keep prices high.
A big win for Americans.
We have just launched the new Lean reference manual, our core documentation intended as a comprehensive, precise description of Lean! #leanlang#leanprover

@RPorsager@SocketSecurity@feross Thanks for the feedback, I'm working on license detection for Socket. The alert you're seeing is a temporary side effect of the roll-out process that should conclude this weekend. I can confirm license detection finds and reports UNLICENSE (I just checked the postgres package).
@disconcision The pop os one is like this. I don't have it in front of me right now, but I didn't change any settings (other than to turn it on) and regularly use the mouse without problems.
@freekwiedijk I'm sure the Lean community would love to have you. I just cited one of your papers while writing about Lean, so you showing up in my timeline is clearly a sign.
@CancellationCh1@matthewstoller >Matt wants states with more people to have greater power over the states that are home to fewer people.
omg so hypocritical
@PhilHollowayEsq@JradRabel Hey, do you have any data to back up the assertion that bar examination does anything to protect the public? Are attorneys in bar exam states disciplined at significantly lower rates than attorneys in the diploma privilege state?
