Day 8 of Richard Ratcliffe’s hunger strike outside the Foreign Office is over. He just went to bed in his cold tent.
His wife, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been held hostage in Iran since 3 April 2016.
@BorisJohnson & @trussliz don’t have the deal making skills to #FreeNazanin
Happy Halloween, Gabriella
She was separated from both parents when she was 22 months old. The Iranians are holding her mum, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe hostage & her father, Richard Ratcliffe is on hunger strike outside the Foreign Office
Her resilience is amazing #FreeNazanin
My heart breaks to write this, but once again my constituent Richard Ratcliffe has been forced to go on hunger strike because of the Government's inaction and failure to #FreeNazanin.
It should never have come to this.
... and, in 2019, one in six children were living in extreme poverty – a number that rose significantly during the pandemic. It’s time to remind the world of its commitment to children’s rights.”

“If governments kept their word, and if all adults respected children’s rights, there would be no need for this book. Children have rights just as adults do and they should have the power and agency to claim them....

And a real 9-year-old Amal is featured in #UNHCR Winter 2021 appeal. Her family has been displaced many times. She lost her right leg when a shell hit their Hama home, exploding in her bedroom
We shall be making as strong a case as possible to stop the appalling attack on #refugees and #asylum seekers in the Nationality and Borders Bill when we see our MP on Friday. Any tips from others who've already seen their MPs? #StopTheRightsRaid#RefugeesWelcome
20-year-old Alireza Fazeli Monfared was killed in Iran in connection with his gender expression and sexual orientation. No one should lose their lives because of this. We demand justice and dignity for Alireza and Iran’s LGBTI people.
A poster van is circling St James’ Park today, reading ‘Jamal Khashoggi murdered 2.10.18 #justiceforjamal’. A plane reading #justiceforjamal is also being flown over the stadium today
We challenge G20 leaders to urgently redistribute surplus Covid-19 vaccines & help deliver 2 billion doses to lower-income countries before the end of the year. We only have 75 days left. With thousands dying every day, the world cannot wait.

Don't let the government take away our hard-won rights. It wasn't that long ago we saw the police response to mourners at Sarah Everard's vigil

The new Justice Secretary hasn't liked the Human Rights Act since 2009 and thinks the European Court of Human Rights should be subservient to the Supreme Court.
