21 August 2024 - The @FCWC_CPCO Secretariat received a visit today from a delegation from the @au_ibar led by Dr Mohammed Seisay to conduct a handing over ceremony of equipment to enhance environmental protection efforts through Fisheries MCS in the Region. The ceremony coincided with the working visit of Benin’s Hon Minister Gaston Dossouhoui, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
In a short ceremony at the FCWC’s Regional MCS Centre, Hon. Dossouhoui received the items on behalf of the FCWC Member States from Dr. Seisay. The equipment was procured as part of the activities under a joint project between FCWC and AU-IBAR, titled "Strengthening Regional MCS Systems for Conservation and Protection of Aquatic Biodiversity and Environmental Management in the African Region," funded by @Sida.
The equipment received includes an HF radio set for the FCWC’s Regional MCS Centre, and mobile digital tablets, GPS devices, and digital cameras for three FCWC Member States (Benin, Liberia, and Nigeria).
