Statement on the halt of Weapons to Ukraine:

President Trump’s leadership continues to be a force for peace in a world that desperately needs it. Under his bold and decisive direction, we’ve seen an end to three major global conflicts: the war between Israel and Iran, the bloody conflict between DRCongo and Rwanda, and the long-standing tensions between India and Pakistan. These are historic breakthroughs that show what real leadership and diplomacy can do when guided by strength and moral clarity.

When Vladimir Putin offered to "help" the U.S. with the Israel-Iran war, President Trump didn’t hesitate. He shut that down immediately and made it clear: if you want to help, stop attacking Ukraine. There’s no room for compromise with a regime that bombs civilian targets, burns churches, and kills innocent women and children. What Russia is doing in Ukraine isn’t just war. These are war crimes, and the world needs to call it exactly that.

President Trump has already said that America will continue to support Ukraine during NATO talks. Right now, there's been a temporary pause in the shipment of defensive weapons like precision-guided shells and Hellfire missiles for Ukraine’s F-16s. That pause needs to end as soon as possible. Every delay costs lives. Every moment we wait gives Russia more time to destroy.

I know there are some at the Pentagon who think countering China should be our main focus. But here’s the truth. If we don’t stop Russia in Ukraine, they’ll move on Moldova next, then the Baltic states. That would trigger Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which would commit the United States not just to send more weapons, but to send American soldiers. No American wants boots on the ground in another war. We have a chance to stop that now.

We need to arm Ukraine heavily, not to escalate the war, but to defend innocent people and save lives. I’ll be communicating with Secretary Hedseth to share my concerns from a humanitarian point of view.

The Department of Defense is continuing to offer the President strong options for ongoing military support to Ukraine, in line with his goal of ending this tragic war.

We can’t stand by and watch this happen. Supporting Ukraine is the right thing to do, and it’s also what putting America First truly means.

As a servant of God and a passionate advocate for justice, I, Pastor Mark Burns, understand the complexities of this moment. However, I remain steadfast in my belief that the United States must continue to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and sovereignty.

While it is true that Washington will "no longer be flying around the world as the primary mediator," America’s commitment to Ukraine is far from over. In fact, President Donald Trump has recently approved the first round of weapons deliveries to Ukraine, sending a powerful message that the United States will not back down in supporting Ukraine’s right to defend itself.

Additionally, the establishment of the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund is a monumental step in providing Ukraine with the resources it needs to rebuild and grow.
