Hey everyone. I've mentioned before that I'm teaching summer school World History and I've tweeted a pic of my GameBoard concept. I thought I'd share the Player's guide I created giving a basic rundown of how it all works. Cheers and happy summer 😀 https://t.co/nrWCpwzb9R
On this day in 1908, Jack Johnson became the first African American World Heavyweight Boxing Champion by knocking out Tommy Burns.
Johnson holding on to the heavyweight crown was not acceptable in an era of white imperialism.
Ss call me over to check if they're correct. I can do a quick check b/c everything that originated in the Eastern Hem is colored ROY (red, orange, yellow) & everything from the West Hem is colored G BIV (Green, Blue, indigo, violet)
Here is a fun way to engage US or World History students. After discussing the Columbian Exchange in class for a few days, I split Ss into groups & they try to place the items in the correct Hemisphere from whence they came https://t.co/K5g5M08OlD
I've been experimenting with recreating primary documents to look something like the originals to increase authenticity and student engagement. This is a lesson on Marcus Garvey I adapted from SHEG https://t.co/XivOIccf5d
@GoughTeaches @mr_thoop Did you give options for the format that included this? What do you call this style or format? This is like recreating historical ephemera and it's really awesome!
@KevinLevin "it won't be for the foreseeable future" b/c we have to behave within the limits set by power. It could be destroyed at any time by a couple dozen committed ppl but you would never suggest that b/c you don't actually care about removing it or ending white supremacy, imo
Inspired once again by @historysandoval here is my Sketch Notes assignment on Anna May Wong and the 1920s. Questions are from PBS Learning Media https://t.co/dkDiynsg08
